iOS Status Bar and 24 day lockup in the version 5.0 app
« on: December 01, 2016, 08:00:06 AM »
On the new version of the iOS app it looks like the devs forgot to hide the status bar at the top of the screen. Can you have them release a 5.0.1 update which hides the status bar like in the previous version of the app? This should be a very quick, simple fix. Also, the iOS player will lockup after 24 days of continuous use. I have 13 iPads running the app and all will lock up after 24 days and need to have the app relaunched. We have tested this behavior over several months with the same results each time. Thanks!

Hello
we still consider the iOS version beta and will release another updated version early next year.
However, our Android Player is professional, battle tested and used by tens of thousands of screens, so if possible I would recommend Android (also less money compared to iOS).
But no worries, we are pushing on a newly enhanced mediaTOUCH solution and with it we will be releasing new iOS and Apple TV SignagePlayers, all with GPU enhancements.

We have this same issue on Android and was able to modify an ap to automatically reboot the player on a timed schedule.  This resolved our issue with daily/weekly/monthly lock ups.  I wonder if such a thing exist in the iOS world?

We also found an app that can auto hide the various task and navigation bars as DS does not always seem to do this well.

Have a great Holiday!
