Using external SWF-Files
« on: March 19, 2010, 03:58:42 AM »
Dear admins.

We want to use external SWF in our Signage-Presentations. Unfortunately it doesn't work out with some files. The files can be called by a browser but not by mediasignage. Here's an example for this case (don't mind the content - it's just a simple sample file):

newbielink:http://wwwu.uni-klu.ac.at/hmaier/Balance.swf [nonactive]

And another SWF - which was exported by Flypaper (a software to create simply flash-based slideshows):
newbielink:http://content.flypaper.net/5DE157E2-34E1-4D48-977A-5C952A06400C/preview.aspx [nonactive]

Maybe you could tell me, how we can display objects like this without using the component "html".

Thank you very much.

Alexander

Yes, make sure that under resources you check the checkbox of "Trust this swf" and once you do, it will work.

Regards,

Eddie.

Thanks so far. But we do not upload the files into the ressources directory. We want to use the component "external swf / image" from the component directory and there is no checkbox for "trust this swf" - it's just available in the ressources directory.

Regards

Alex

The best method for that is to use the HTML component and host your own HTML web page which have the Flash embedded.
