I would like to suggest adding the capacity to run/control external applications on the same machine.
For example, while I have my presentation running, I also have Spotify playing music in the background. However, just in the case of another user's post, any videos that I want to play will be audible in addition to the background music from Spotify. I would like to have Spotify paused when the video in the timeline began; then to resume or start the next song in the playlist after the video is finished. It would be helpful if there was a way to insert a command channel into the timeline that would serve as an interface with external programs. I could also see this type of functionality being used possibly for other system control functions.
Just a thought- and a feature that would benefit this type of signage setup.
