Display images from ftp directory
« on: March 16, 2015, 02:01:50 PM »
I'm just a preacher - and novice at this thing.  Our school has an outdoor ip camera that sends pics to a ftp server.  is there any way for a novice to display those pics on the player?  Thanks!

The short answer is probably yes. You just will not have the transitions. If you're ok with cut from one image to another, then yes, with some guidance.

Thanks for the optimistic reply!!  Any advice as to where I might find some gentle guidance? :)  I'm willing to read / research / whatever, just not great at javascript or coding.

I'll put something together when I get back from vacation.

Try,

Assuming you have a screen and timeline set up already.

Add MRSS component to timeline.
Double click on the component in the timeline.
lower right on properties - showing MRSS feed address - select custom.
Type in address to your ftp folder.

Website address and path

This should run through all the images in the folder - it will display 15 seconds each. I haven't found a way to change it.
It will justify the images upper left corner - within your screen division.

It will play all images in the folder - so if someone gives your camera a rude gesture (the bird) (mooning) it will play on screen.

I would be careful of where the camera is placed and the approval process for the images.
