For the benefit of the other users, I was able to get this fixed with the help of the online chat.  Basically, if you are experiencing this problem, you will need to clear your cache on your desktop studio player by deleting the signage studio player folder and resigning back in.  You can find this folder at this location:
C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\SignagePlayer.XXX .  Do not delete the "signage studio" folder but the "signage studio.xxxxxxxxx" folder

Is there any reason why the "CheckUpdates" option in SignageStudio will not upgrade my android player to 4.20?

yes, for Android you need to upgrade through the Google play store (Android standard).
that's why we include a print out with every mediaDROID shipped that recommends you install SignagePlayer on mediaDROID from Google play store so you can push remote updates...
hope that helps...

I watched the video of the schedule but still can't see if the scheduler does what we would die to have.

We would like to have timelines be in the rotation for a period of time. For example, July specific screens (birthdays anniversaries, etc..) would be in a timeline. That timeline would be in the sequence for the month of July and then stop without intervention in August. I don't want it to replace anything in July. I just want it to be in rotation July 1st and go out of rotation August 1st. Does the scheduler give us a way to do this?

well yes, you can set the Scheduler to repeat a particular timeline indefinitely.... and set priorities to special events that will override with a different / other timeline.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with Avermedia since the 4.20 update? We have several systems where the signal freezes or just goes black. I was telling clients to check their cable box, but then more and more clients were reporting the issue, and all since we updated. Also updated to the latest Adobe AIR.

This just seems odd because Avermedia is its own application. How could Player interfere with it?

That is odd as 4.20 doesn't touch any aspect of AverMedia... must be diff reason...
