Hello Admin,

I might ask a question which has already been answered...but I can't find it so I'll ask it anyways...

We are planning to buy MediaServer in December, and start using it straight away with SignagePlayers waiting for that...

Question 1 : What is the version of the Studio and the Player delivered with the MediaServer at the moment ?

Question 2 : What will happen when you upgrade MediaServer to 4.0 ? Any risks ? Are we going to miss some functionnalities ?...

Or should we wait until you update to 4.0 before buying MediaServer ? (it is not a good option for us...)

Thanks for your answer.

Best Regards

Question 1 : What is the version of the Studio and the Player delivered with the MediaServer at the moment ?  - ships with version 3.0.87

Question 2 : What will happen when you upgrade MediaServer to 4.0 ? Any risks ? Are we going to miss some functionnalities ?... will be the same with current version except you wont have access to the shared resources and scenes of the cloud version.

Or should we wait until you update to 4.0 before buying MediaServer ? (it is not a good option for us...)  - this would be up to you really.

Ok, so if I want to have access to shared resources and scenes, I should wait until release of 4.0, right ?

Do you have some fresh news about this 4.0 MediaServer release date ?

Thanks

As an enterprise user or mediaSERVER owner w get you all the source PSD files for all templates.
Shared scenes will eventually come to the mediaSERVERs but it will not be as part of the 1st upgrade of the mediaSERVER from 3.X > 4.X .

The whole reason I came onto the boards today was to also ask this question.... when is 4.0 coming to those of us that are server customers?

We were hoping to get it out in late Jan but decided to include in the server release a major new feature upgrade that is coming in Feb (no details just yet) and the good news is that the server 4.0 update will receive the new major release but it will probably be late Feb for the 4.0 mediaSERVER upgrade.

Regards.

It would really be great if you guys would just pick a cutoff point in your development and deliver a product.  I couldn't even guess at how many times I've been told, or read on your forums, "we're holding off to add in this one more feature."  Updates don't need to be entirely focused on fixing broken software.  It wouldn't hurt us to get the product you have today and then update us with the new feature in late February.  Mainly because I'm sure something else will come up that you think will be the greatest feature ever and you just need to postpone the release a little longer and on and on and on.
Version 3, which as a paying customer, I've been running for over 18 months, received the same treatment.  You acknowledge there are lots of deficiencies but keep repeating that the features are fixed or will be fixed in the next version, only the next version keeps getting pushed out indefinitely.
I never would have purchased your software if I knew that it might be 2 years before getting an update.

I wish the update really released this month. While at GMT+7 here we really hard to get live support.
Even we had bought 100 signageplayer license !! :'(

Note: And please make it easy to upgrade from v3..

Hopefully 4.0 will actually be released in 2 – 3 weeks. As a software developer I can appreciate that sometimes releases are delayed, but this is bordering on the ridiculous. When 4.0 is finally released will there be a mechanism to keep up-to-date with the point releases or will it just fall behind the cloud version? On the website media server is advertised as being no different than the cloud version but this has clearly not been the case for quite some time. The bulk of the features and components that are advertised are currently only available in the cloud version. There should be more transparency in how the product is advertised.

the mediaSERVER has been released to private beta, once we get all feedback and fix couple of minor bugs we we release mediaSERVER 4.0 to the public, we just have to make sure everything is flawless.
