That took care of it, thank you.

To copy is to make a new, unique item with attributes that copy the original. To create a shortcut is simply to refer to the original.

Ok, I'll give those a go. Thank you for the speedy reply.

SignageStudio / Local video resources are blank
« on: August 15, 2012, 05:22:56 AM »
Hello, I have an ad campaign and have uploaded several local resources including images and video. I have about five videos I've uploaded, all the same length and format (.mp4), and all play fine on my computer. However, after uploading them to signage studio and save/syncing, only the first video I have uploaded will play correctly. The second video will play the duration and I hear audio, but just a black screen for video. All the rest simply have black screens, no audio and no file details in the studio. Any idea what's wrong?

I probably should clarify better what it is I want to do. I want to be able to determine the images and videos used in my ads externally so that I can just create "templates" for the ads in signage studio and then when I need to add or remove an image and videos, I can do that externally by modifying some file/database. I hope this is clearer. Any help would be appreciated.

As a side note, I have a very low budget right now so cost effective options are a must. Thanks again.

I don't think that's what I'm looking for. I still want the same information on each screen, I would just like to be able to dynamically (preferably driven by a database) assign the media rather than creating timelines for each ad and changing them often.

SignageStudio / breaking news able to overlap content?
« on: August 09, 2012, 05:51:54 AM »
I need to be able to add breaking news (gathered from media RSS) to my players. When the company posts a breaking news story, I want to cover currently running content with this new media. Am I able to do this with the current features of signage studio?

My thoughts were to place a viewer/channel with the media RSS feed over all the content and somehow restrict it to only play items from the feed that are newer than 30 minutes or so. Will that work or is there a better way? I would like to use something more flexible like external html but I also need it to not show unless there is content. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Criley, I'll check those out.

SignageStudio / Dynamic content?

Hello, I'm new to media signage so forgive me if this is a no-brainer. The project I'm working on will require 40-50 video ads playing in rotation along with alternating RSS feeds and other random, alternating snippets.

I would like to use about six different layouts (timelines?) with each running for about 1-2 minutes. However, the ads and feeds need to still run in a set sequence while still caching to be viewable if the player goes offline. Is this possible and where do I read up on it? Thanks.
