While the tweaks in the page you linked to are mainly for windows XP, you can easily find similar registry-tweaks if you google the title of the .reg file + windows 7. A quick example: "Windows 7 enableballoontips 0" yields  https://www.google.com/search?q=Windows+7+enableballoontips+0&oq=Windows+7+enableballoontips+0&sugexp=chrome,mod=15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

There's a link to "Taskbar Eliminator" on your page as well. That works with 7 as well.

SignageStudio / Re: Increasing font size in html5
« on: December 26, 2012, 11:21:31 PM »
Hi erictaft.
What kind of html5 content are you attempting to view? Can you link to the site?
It depends on the content you want to increase the font-size of. If you're hosting it yourself, a couple of lines of CSS can do the trick for you.

Below is my response to a similar request made a while ago. The science is the same. You can find the thread here.

Or does anyone know of any other method to display a zoomed version of a webpage, maybe a web service you could append the URL you'd like magnified to.. webpagezoomer.com/thepageiwanttozoom.com ?? Long shot I know lol.

I also use the HTML object to do just about everything in our campaigns as well. We've been having similar issues, more specifically problems with enlarging content pulled from an external site. Even though the content was pretty much plain text, I couldn't increase the font size using CSS.

I found a solution, though. By putting the whole external site in a <div>, I could then use transform property of CSS (see code below) on the divider, I was able to enlarge it by a factor of choice.

Code: [Select]
<html>
<head>
<style>
#wrap
{
width:670px;
height:412px;
border:0px solid blue;
margin-left:180px;
margin-top:85px;
transform:scale(1.5,1.5);
-ms-transform:scale(1.5,1.5); /* IE 9 */
-moz-transform:scale(1.5,1.5); /* Firefox */
-webkit-transform:scale(1.5,1.5); /* Safari and Chrome */
-o-transform:scale(1.5,1.5); /* Opera */
overflow: hidden
}
</style>
</head>
<body>
<div id="wrap">
<iframe id="conventus" src="http://hvl-gruppen.dk/mediasignage/test/conventus_js.html" style=" border-width:0 " width="670" height="412" frameborder="1" scrolling="no"> </iframe>
</div>
</body>
</html>

Examples
Orignal: http://hvl-gruppen.dk/mediasignage/test/test_original.html
Zoom: http://hvl-gruppen.dk/mediasignage/test/test_zoom.html

Note that the margins and the transform factor are the only things that differ in the two page-sources. (The margins need tweaking, because they are transformed as well. Didn't bother perfecting them for test purposes.)

I don't know if this will be of any use to you, but this solved my issues (for now).
An official zoom-feature for scenes/html components would also be appreciated.

If you post what site you're attempting to zoom in on, I could perhaps help you a bit more.

If you are referring to the fact that it says Mozilla, All browsers will say this. It is a compatibility need from way back in the early days of Netscape. The second part is what tells you it is webkit and not Gecko (Firefox), and that last part tells you the application. Both Chrome and Safari are Webkit, and Adobe Air uses it as well.

Nope. Just pointing out that the browser is indeed webkit. And that it apparently isn't very up to date with handling javascript.

SignageStudio / Re: Anyone figured out how to get a Google Cal. to work?
« on: December 03, 2012, 12:57:49 AM »
Yes. (Cross-post from this thread.)

We had a client that wanted Google Calendar integrated as well.
Our simple solution was to use the 'embed your calendar on your homepage'-feature that Google supplies themselves, to easily display a calendar in agenda-mode.
This means that you can easily see the next and most relevant events, wasting no space on displaying empty weekends and the like.

The code can be found here: http://hvl-gruppen.dk/mediasignage/herfoelge/gcal.html. CTRL+U for the source.
All you need to do, is edit the source to your own calendar, and you're good to go.

You need to upload your code to a server somewhere. A temporary (or perhaps permanent) solution could be to use the "public" folder of a dropbox account.

Code: [Select]
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
<div id="content">

#################  Put your embedded calendar code here. #######################

</div>
</body>
</html>

Copy and paste the above text into a .txt file on your desktop. Open the file, replace the ########## put your code here ####### part with your own embedded calendar code, and save the file as something.html. Then put it in your dropbox "public" folder, if you have one, and right click the file. Follow the dropbox context-menu to the "Copy public URL" button. Click that, and paste the link you have in your clipboard now into the HTML-component in your SignageStudio campaign.

Write back if you need any help at all.

Hey HVL,
Thanks for the update. This is still something I think a lot of us are interested in.
My only question is where do I interject my calendar code at? Which point?
Thanks again!

I do not know what you mean by 'interject'. Please elaborate?

I have nothing to do, lol. Sorry if you already know this. Write back if you need any help at all.

MSearching the forum I saw that the HTML rendering egine is WebKit, which is the same basis Safari browser. In Safari the command works and content is offline, with text and images saved locally.

Just to verify that the browser is indeed webkit, I linked a test station I have in the office to "www.whatismybrowser.com". The following was the result.  http://imgur.com/3oDCc
Disregard the "Adobe Air" in the top. Look instead on the single line in the very bottom.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows: U; da-DK) AppleWebkit/533, 19.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) - Adobe Air /3.5

I have earlier, when attempting to refresh the content of a HTML-component in a campaign of mine with javascript, had issues with this old version of webkit. I had to use SetTimeout instead of SetInterval, because that command wasn't supported.

It was something difficult to achieve, since for some reason the HTML is not transparent. But if you look at the field properties "common - appeareance" there are some options for blending modes, moved to Multiply and it was! All white disappears! For some images in HTML that's bad, but it's better this way than with the background of HTML.

Thanks for this info! I didn't know this. Most useful.

You do have internet, right?..
I don't have any way to test what you're experiencing, though. You should contact live-chat.

During the upgrade to 4.0, they broke the ad-packaging system. What you describe is exactly the same error I'm getting, and there is no fix. I think it is on the development roadmap, but seeing as this bug is essentially a major deal-breaker, I don't think this issue is getting enough attention. The whole ad-packaging system is completely useless.

Quick note: downgrading to SignageStudio 3.x will not work (I'm currently using 3.x myself). They broke the connection on their own end.

In case anybody is interested, we had a client that wanted Google Calendar integrated as well. The original post is about a year old now, so that probably isn't relevant anymore.

Enterprise edition, branding and reselling / Re: Splash Screen help...

Thanks for at least responding, HVL... don't always get responses around here... Unfortunately, the higher ups won't agree to finance Flash, so I'm a little stuck.

No problem. I understand. Flash is quite expensive.
I could convert it for you, though? If you upload the .png you want converted into a static .swf somewhere, I'll gladly convert it for you.

I used the software you guys recommended, freemake, to convert my mp4 to a swf the first time... and it uploaded fine.

Then, I did the exact same thing - used freemake to convert a swf, but that time it didn't work.

So if using the software you recommend doesn't work... can you recommend software that will upload without that embedded code?

Admins tip is irrelevant. If you don't know what Actionscript is (AS3), then you're not using it.
I'd recommend *cough* buying Adobe Flash CS4/CS5 and watch a small tutorial on how to import Mp4.

New features and suggestions / Re: HTML Component | Zoom Website Content
« on: November 15, 2012, 06:05:43 AM »
Ok so I got 4 x mediaDroid devices delivered yesterday and the zoom workaround doesn't work as it did on my Windows 7 test box :(

Does any know of a similar workaround for Android?

Maybe the internal html-component in android doesn't support the CSS property transform.

I'm not able to test this myself, but this fellow made a javascript library that enables cross-platform transform.
http://www.useragentman.com/blog/2010/03/09/cross-browser-css-transforms-even-in-ie/

Add the following after your </style>:

Code: [Select]
<script type="text/javascript" src="path/to/js/cssQuery-p.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="path/to/js/jcoglan.com/sylvester.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="path/to/js/cssSandpaper.js"></script>

You need to download the javascripts from here first. https://github.com/zoltan-dulac/cssSandpaper/tree/master/shared/js

Then try adding the line
Code: [Select]
-sand-transform:scale(2,2); to the divider you want transformed.

Again, I haven't tested this at all.

New features and suggestions / Re: SDK - development

Judging from how the rest of SignageStudio is progressing, it will be a while before the SDK is released. I don't think it is on their immediate roadmap.

Actually this was fixed, but didn't release to public yet.
I should be able to post a private build tomorrow here....
You can test the private beta, download from: http://galaxy.signage.me/Code/Install/air/CloudSignagePlayer_d.air

Thank you very much admin. That's a great service.
