SignageStudio / Re: Trouble showing Xml Format, help vid not much help!
« on: January 24, 2017, 12:17:20 AM »
So ended up fixing the problem myself with a lot of hours on google and figuring out how to make a php script.

Code: [Select]
<?php

//Get XML from website

$xmlfromhb file_get_contents("http://"XMLlink");  saving the xml file for further use.

// Parse XML
$xml = simplexml_load_string($xmlfromhb) or die("ErrorCannot create object");  //T

//print_r(
$xml);

// Print HTML header
?>

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
   <head>
      <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
         <title>Fetch XML and output modified HTML</title>
         <style>
         table {
         border-collapse: collapse;
         }
         table, th, td {
         border: 1px solid black;
         }
         </style>
      </head>
      <body style="max-width: 716px; max-height: 756px; overflow:hidden; border: 1px solid black;">
      <div max-width=100%;>
         <table>
            <thead>                                                                      //Setting up the html layout, with the Table headers I want to show. (many but only needed 5)
               <tr>
                  <th>Start</th>
                  <th>Slut</th>
                  <th>Titel</th>
                  <th>Instrukt&oslash;r</th>
                  <th>Sted</th>
               </tr>
            </thead>
            <tbody>
<?php

// Run thru XML and pull out the info needed for print in the html
foreach($xml->hold as $hold) {
   print
"<tr>\n";
   print
"<td>" str_replace('T',' ',$hold->start) . "</td>";    //The data had a "T" in the middle of it. With this command I was able to replace the "T" with " ". and solve the problem :)

print "\n";
   print
"<td>" str_replace('T',' ',$hold->slut) . "</td>";
   print
"\n";
   print
"<td>" $hold->titel "</td>";
   print
"\n";
   print
"<td>" $hold->instr "</td>";
   print
"\n";
   print
"<td>" $hold->sted "</td>";
   print
"\n";

   print
"</tr>\n";
}

?>

            </tbody>
         </table>
         <>
      </body>
   </html>

Hope it can help others as this was quite the problem on my end.

Any suggestions on improvement are greatly appreciated also .

So a former employee where i work talked to the support around august last year, about html5 not working anymore to show

"https://booking.sport-solutions.dk/index.aspx#/weekCalendar?chainId=1119865&centerId=1119868" .

The provider of the Calendar updated their javascript to something more complicated. And it stopped working.

The support said you where working on an improved version of the Html5 component. That would come out in jan. 2017.

Is there an update on that ?

At the moment we are using ext/app firefox to show it. But the html5 just runs smoother. Especially if it has to loop between different components.

Had a nice talk with RonP.

was hoping for the possibility to make a Xml Scene that would autoupdate in teamviewer, if the xml data from source changes.
Seems that is not possible so have to devise my own php script !  That will load the info, reformat and send back thru html5.

Work in progress since I am clueless about php.

If i get it to work this weekend. (off the clock) I will post and update for future use. !

SignageStudio / Trouble showing Xml Format, help vid not much help!
« on: December 20, 2016, 06:58:36 AM »
Hello all

So have client who gets sports schedule in an XML file that im trying to show on their screen.

Been trying to follow the help vid. but the values shown differ from then ones i get.

"http://hornslet.halbooking.dk/feed/holdliste.asp?pid=01"   So when he does his 'burger.(@name=="ChickenBurger")' Im not sure how to set it up.

Can it be done with the code im getting or do I need to find other way ?

Also tried to do :

http://hvl-gruppen.dk/mediasignage/hornslet/ccms/xml1.html

Where I converted it and put it on ftp and then thru the Html feature tried to show it.
But size is huge and cant figure out how to downscale it.
Prob some CSS script but not very good with that.

Now the best thing would probably be to get the first thing working since if the Xml file gets new info it will auto-update and it should take care of itself.
But if not possible I could live with the 2nd solution :)

Any help is much appreciated

And when doubleclicking to "preview" the html I have created i see the calendar.  But when up on the monitor all i get is a white frame for some reason..

And i do have other monitors where it works. Have copied everything to look the same. But just wont work. (so yeah something must be different. but cant see what. And guy who set up is not here anymore. So have been left on my own to try and figure out :) )

SignageStudio / Setting up Google Calender for others.
« on: December 12, 2016, 05:01:21 AM »
Hi .

So I am managing multiple screens for different clients. Who all have different setups depending on their needs.

But one problem im having is setting up their google calendars.
What i´m looking for is a way to setup a scene that will run a full view of their calendar with current day and events at the top, and days to come downwards (Agenda).
Not really interested in showing different events during the week, just want an Agenda with all to come.

Been trying to make it work with them making the calendar public and setting up an Iframe on private ftp and thru that link making it show (making a Calendar scene with Html and in that putting the link to the Ftp.. But for some reason I get a white frame that shows nothing or it looks like its about to load something but never gets there and jumps to the next html. (But when I do the preview in Signage Studio, I see the calendar just fine. Problem comes when it has to load it on the Station.)

I recently also acquired the Enterprise edition hoping it would make it easier to setup. But thats not the case ;)

Have been trying to play around with the Token you get when login in with signage.me at Gmail.. But cant seem to get it to work properly.. And not even show a preview.

Now my question(s) is:
Do I need the Token from my customer to make this work or is there another "easier" way to just make it show the Calendar?
Or can it be done with Iframe I just need to set it up right ?

Been trying to find vids or forum posts about it . But nothing pops up.

If anybody could direct me to a good description or has an idea about what im doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated.

SignageStudio / Re: Customer wants Excel in presentation

Just to be clear; you want me to make fx. 2 or 3 html components with a link to the same Google Doc and put them in line on the timeline, right? And that should make it refresh in between the components?  :)

I've tried it now, I'll have to wait and see for results!

Thanks!

Thanks both of you!

ANOOP > I ended up using Google Docs - he told me it's at least a hundred times easier now than before  ;)

AndrewL >
That's another smart work-around! If it hadn't been that Google Docs seem to work almost perfectly, I'd definitely try it!

There's just one little problem now... The HTML component that I assigned the Google Doc to, won't update itself often enough. Yesterday it took the text box up to 12 hours to update itself. This isn't fast enough at all... Sadly. So until I find a solution to this, I've asked him to reboot the machine after each update. That solves the problem, since Google updates the document every half hour or so (which is fine!). It's just not an acceptable permanent solution that he has to reboot every time he's been adding new matches to the table.
So any work-arounds/quick fixes to this? I'm clueless on this one... Maybe I should create an HTML site displaying the Google doc and set a refresh timer to the document..?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

SignageStudio / Customer wants Excel in presentation
« on: August 16, 2013, 05:22:48 AM »
Hi friends,

One of my customers is a sports club. Needless to say there are many matches every week for them. Every week the owner is able to log onto his clubs site at DBU.dk (danish football association) and download an Excel document showing the upcoming week's matches. If needed I can upload an example of such a file (basically just a table of matches, dates etc.).
Until now I've allowed customers to manually enter text into their presentations through a simple online CMS-system that edits html-documents I'm using as HTML components, but this customer is getting tired of having to enter every match and info every week and unfortunately the CMS-system doesn't allow him to c/p the table; now he comes to me, asking if there's any way we can find a solution to this problem - I don't know  the answer...
The scene division he wants it to be shown in is 750px x 408px.

So now I'm asking you; is there an easier way to implement the information from the Excel document unto the presentation?
Please let me know if you're missing some information or anything...
& thanks in advance for your time!  :)

SignageStudio / Re: HTML component to update hourly
« on: March 06, 2013, 01:57:11 AM »
Thanks for the response.

I am aware of that, as I have done it in other situations, but this time I don't know how to make it work that way  :-\
Since in the other situations it is HTML-pages, that I myself have uploaded, I have been able to make them refresh themselves,
but now that the link in the HTML-component is directly to Facebook, I'm not able to modify the code.
I only know the basics of HTML and JavaScript, so my imagination is kinda limited to my knowledge :-)

Have you got a suggestion of how to get it to work that way around?

SignageStudio / HTML component to update hourly
« on: March 05, 2013, 11:31:34 PM »
Hi!

I was wondering whether or not it would be possible to somehow set the refresh rate of HTML components?
I've set up Facebook in a scene (since I had to crop the site), and now it automatically updates itself daily -
but I would like it to update on an hourly scheme. Is that possible?

SignageStudio / HTML component roll as credits
« on: March 04, 2013, 02:55:04 AM »
Hi friends  ;)

I have been enabling some of my clients to themselves add text content live to their presentations.
I'm using a simple online HTML-editor (which one shouldn't mean a difference). I simply assign an HTML document to a screen division, and let them edit the HTML document (which has some preset settings - e.g. the size. Now one of my clients asks me if it is possible to make a screen division in which he himself is able to edit the text, but where the text rolls as "credits" after a movie..  ::)
The only way I can imagine this being possible is to simply construct a scene that "moves" as shown in some of your guides. But this way the size of the HTML-document has to be preset, and therefore the idea behind having this "credit-like" text is really non existing. What would be perfect, is if it somehow was able to adjust to the size of the document, so that when there's a lot of text it rolls through all of it, and if there's only a single line or two it only rolls through them. This way it won't roll over a lot of empty space, given he does not have a lot of text.

Is this even possible? Enlighten me, please, I'm really curious about this one.
Thanks in advance  :)

Nick
