In http://www.digitalsignage.com/html/mediadroid_zx.html you say:

What video format should I use for best results?
The recommended video format is 460P or lower resolution.

I´ve been searching for 460P and found no standard video format. Maybe it's an error and you want to say 480p
In that case please correct it

I've just installed new version Adobe Air BETA 3.5.0.520 on my mediaDROID ZX
The Android SignageController does not see the version id, it still sees it as 3.5.0.290 (Other Windows 7 PC show correct Air BETA 3.5.0.520)
and the Air BETA 3.5.0.520 does not fix the color distortion problem.
Hope this will be fixed soon
On the other side, the mediaDROID ZX has beeen working for more than 48 hours without getting hot

Friday I just received my mediaDROID ZX, and am testing it.
I've found that some scenes show color distortion, as you can see in

GOOD - Scene shown in Windows 7 PC

BAD -Scene shown in mediaDROID ZX

The scene has a background image .png and standard weather components from the SignageStudio

Also, when applying an effect (e.g. shadow) to a Rich Text component, it shows very strangely on the screen

Using the SignageStudio, when I insert the QR component and set the QR Content property, it is not shown squared.
What I have read about QR codes is:
The code consists of black modules (square dots) arranged in a square pattern on a white background.
Check the aspect ratio.  QR codes need to be square.  If your QR code gets its aspect ratio changed in your editing or printing process, it may not scan correctly.
Can you set the maintainAspectRatio ON by default?
I will be better for us.

but it downloads version 4.0.93

As I don't get a response, I've checked and found that there are TWO different apps in Google Play. I had installed the SignagePlayer Mobile (FREE) and when I tried to update it didn´t work.


After I discovered the SignagePlayer Android and deleted the previous one, installed this (4.0.87 version) and is working now.

In - Build change list: you can read: 4.0.80 10-4-2012 Now shows Android OS version under SignageStudio > Stations > stations grid
On if my stations is running Android 2.3.3 but SignageStudio > Stations > stations grid show Linux 2.6.35 (it's the kernel version, not the Android version)
Moreover, the player is running AIR Version 3.4.0.271 but SignageStudio shows version 3.3.0.3230

I?ve just tried this same MRSS
When I first insert Media RSS/Podcast component in the timeline I can see the default CNN News MRSS
After I change RSS to [Custom] and write http://feeds.feedburner.com/TedtalksHD in the textbox and can see the TedtalksHD video
When I click on File->Save and press Start in the timeline all I get is a blank screen
Can you fix the bug?

Adobe AIR 3.4.0.2540

SignagePlayer Beta 4.0.56 (not 4.1)

If there is a 4.1 version, can you tell me where is it?

It's happening with all the non-english Windows versions, and can be avoided installing english versions.
But as many of our customers have already non-english Windows installed, you should find a solution making the SignagePlayer compatible with the international versions.
It would be very appreciated by us

P.S. I've tried the mklink /J "C:\Program Files\SignagePlayer" "C:\Program Files (x86)\SignagePlayer" several times and it doesn't always work

I have tested the version4 Custom RSS Item component but it only has Title, Description and Resource

Maybe it can be achieved by using XMLItem and/or XMLPlayer, but I'll need you tell me how

I've tested the XML component as instructed in the XML component: http://www.mediasignage.com/html/signage_video.html?videoNumber=XML%20Component video and found that the XML that I am using (located in my webpage and linked by a URL) is being cached in the AppData/Roaming/SignageStudio.XXXXXXXXXXXX folder.

Each time I make a change in my XML file it is not updated in the SignageStudio, it is still using the cached XML

The only way to update it it to delete it in the cache folder.

Is there any way of getting a better solution?
