I would assume that this could be achieved using the ADNET component... Building multiple ad packages and placing them in sequenced timelines under a single campaign or 3 campaigns even. Granted there would be limitations... It is a workaround.

Technically this is already possible if using the &rm=minimal query at the end of your google slides URL within the HTML widget:
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/e/YOURIDGOESHERE/pub?start=true&loop=true&delayms=10000&rm=minimal

Edit your google slide, and the next time the content loops back around it will update


OR

using the External App player with Google Chrome in --app mode:
App Name: C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
Command Line: --app="https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/YOURIDGOESHERE/pub?start=true&loop=true&delayms=10000"

Note: Above assumes your google chrome installation is located in program files x86 not program files for 64-bit.

However, I agree, it would be much better if there was a direct integration... Is this something that can be done? We've got calendars, sheets & drive already... Why not slides?

I'm having the opposite issue...

I created a google token on May 25, 2016 and it should have expired Nov 25, 2016 essentially... But it is still active and pulling data. Is this a glitch?

Or are the tokens actually valid for longer than 6 months?

As far as I can see in my google dashboard there is no expiration date. It is fully authorized with your software just like any other app/connection.

General discussion on the mediaCLOUD / Current Security Standards & Concerns

I am researching the security procedures and methods and have only been able to found outdated documentation here: digitalsignage.com/html/signage_security.html

In the forums there are no recent updates on this and it would be helpful to know if the updated software works differently now or has any security at all. I know the data is now stored on Amazon AWS, but as far as the software running over an HTTP connection are there any potentials for injections of media that could compromise a network etc... It would be GREAT if you guys could provide an fully outlined updated document regarding your most recent security.

Is there an updated list of all of the nameservers? I spoke with someone on chat several times and I always forget to save the list for future use after I am done.

ie. (pluto.signage.me // 54.213.160.52 and so on...)

Currently I am having an issue with a firewall blocking all live socket connections so I want to be as explicit as possible as the http/https://*.signage.me/* (Port 80/443 - TCP/UDP) does not seem to allow for full Live Socket connection to the players. Is it possible that there is another port in use that enables the LIVE SOCKET connection? Because Live Socket isn't an available option. I've done some research online and I can find a lot of conflicting information about web socket connections, but not live socket. Sometimes they use port 8080. I've even tried running an active connection scanner on the device, but I will try to run it again. Something just isn't adding up. But I would still like the updated list, there doesn't seem to be a post on the forum or any documentation with all of the most recent nameservers/ip's for some time now. Even the signage.me IP address has changed since the original post.

The only way we've been able to fix this is to use Google Chrome in the external app player using "app" mode rather than kiosk mode. It spawns a borderless chrome box in the dimensions of the channel.

Once you have the file path in there you just need to add the app mode argument and the URL of your presentation. This will show a black bar at the bottom which can be removed by embedding the presentation in an iFrame by using HTML on a server and using Div's and overflow to hide the bar (-28px).

Just make sure the page refreshes often enough to update the content. Also make sure that you use the embed link in the URL of the iframe code that Google gives you, otherwise you'll get popups inside of the player that show you how to use the new Google Slides update.

We've been experiencing several issues lately regarding SignagePlayer.exe crashing but the content is still running.

So I am going to assume that the player crashes, and watchdog launches the exe again and the warning stays on top of the player.

This is been mostly in environments where the machines are running mixed content of Google Sheets using an external app, with weather in HTML Component and videos with RSS Tickers and other integrations simultaneously.

Would setting the RAM on signage fix this? Or by changing reboot on error to station rather than player?

I believe I remember someone mentioning somewhere that this problem is related to Signage not having the permissions to wake the computer. Although defaulting the app to administrative mode via compatibility options never fixed it for me... Safe to say Media Signage doesn't seem very worried about getting this fixed since the problem has persisted for many years now with no resolve.

I've experienced this problem on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Not once have I had a successful power saving plan where the machine and TV come back online automatically without completely shutting down the computer and using BIOS RTC Alarm to reboot it in the morning.

I've used a program called SmartPower from smartpower.co.uk but its hit or miss whether or not this will work correctly. I've had different results on different hardware using the same software.

So it seems Google Slides has performed an update on their platform rendering it completely useless overnight via the HTML Component tool within Signage.

In an attempt to workaround the issue we have attempted to use Firefox as an ext. app, however the tutorial on the documentation is out of date and uses old plugins that are no longer supported. Some of the options still work, but in general there is not decent solution to make it work correctly.

Aside from --kiosk mode in Google Chrome. I cannot yet find an extension that hides all of the browser components except for the content window.

Is there anything that we can do or anyone that has an updated solution for displaying Google Slides or incompatible browser content via an ext app such as Google Chrome or Firefox that would be useful or applicable in our situation?

Usually this is the case if the HTML contents of the page are not compatible with their built in browser in the signage platform. I'm pretty sure that the Android version uses a different web browser because its a different platform so it is displaying for you. What is the URL of the HTML content you are trying to display? I can see if it is a problem on your Windows computer, or incompatibility with signage in general.

For instance, today all of my Google Slides URLs quit displaying/loading inside of Signage Windows Player. This was due to a Google Slides platform update. We are having to use firefox external app inside of a zoned screen division to patch our issue with a solution. But in some cases we're having to switch to a different signage platform in general due to MediaSignage's low feature support from within the HTML Component. A lot of times JavaScript fails to load and certain things just aren't supported.

I use this tool to see what all is supported within the player and compare it to my browser to see what I can and cannot do in some cases.

So far none of my players are updating to 5.0

I know the issue still persists because we've been experiencing it for some time now. Never until I saw this post did I make the connection that it was Windows 8.1+ Related.

We are having the same problem with multiple stations and on newly created weather scenes. The days will not show up correctly. Sometimes it seems to be 5 days off across the board. Any help would be much appreciated as we have a lot of disgruntled people that think we are idiots. I cannot even find a common factor between the ones that are working or the ones that are not working. Its very unpredictable.
