SignagePlayer / Android TV app html5 component
« on: December 15, 2016, 04:21:08 AM »
Great job on the Android TV app, running smooth on Sony bravia XD85 65"  :)

One question: Can you make the html5 component viewport be the same as the screen division? Tried screen division 1920x1080 and 3840x2160, but it will not show all of the fixed 1920x1080 webpage, only a small portion. Made a new fixed page at 960x540px, and the whole page shows.

Report bugs and errors / Re: Custom RSS player - Black between posts
« on: October 27, 2015, 05:15:14 AM »
Live chat provided me with version 4.0.100, and it solved the problem. Anyway, I hope you can fix this issue in newest version.

Just to clarify: The transition is not the biggest problem, but the black between images pulled from rss.

This problem came with the introduction of "Transition pool", and also gave a load bar bug. (load bar bug is fixed)

Custom RSS display black image between each post. Always black flicker, but sometimes up to 1sek. The old player (4.0.100) did not do that, and even crossfaded.

SignagePlayer: 4.34.35
Air: 3.6.0.6090
SignageStudio: 4.34.35 non enterprice

If your internet connection is stable, you can make a webpage and display it with the html5 component.

Great, thank you  :)

We don't have enterprise version, so can't enable transitions.

1. Hmm, you are correct. Looks like a loading bar bug was introduced on the latest version. Will add it to the to-do list.

Any news on this issue? We show 1920x1080 full screen pictures from RSS, so this bug is very ugly.

Glad to see the "load bar bug" on your to-do list :)

We use matrox graphic cards and I don't think they support GPU transitions. (Matrox M9148) Will the fade between rss items retain like before? Hope so.

Signage studio 4.20.23

Station with windows XP updated correctly. (air 3.8.0.870)

Stations with win 7 did not update:
Computer 1 air v. 3.8.0.870 player 4.11.29
Computer 2 air v. 3.5.0.880 player 4.0.100

Station with win 8 displayed an "sorry, signage player cannot update" message on the screen.

SignagePlayer / Re: CustomRSS Component playing randomly
« on: August 04, 2014, 02:25:48 AM »
Nope, unfortunately. I serve content to signagestudio from my web cms through MRSS, so a checkbox to not randomize would have been great. Not a "deal-breaker" for me tho.

Here is a post about the same thing:

Try the "RSS news" component and choose "Embedded RSS".

Check out the "Custom RSS component" in the video tutorials.

It's very useful and the only way to play videos dynamically as I know of. We create our own feed that mediasignage plays 24/7  :)

Had some trouble with other content tho, and really hope it will be fixed but still no answer from the admins/devs.

Report bugs and errors / MRSS and content length
« on: October 26, 2012, 05:25:29 AM »
Bug 1 (Workflow 1 test 2) : Plays correct the first time. Next time other content than MRSS just glimts, but not always. Guess it has something to do with unchecked "respect content length", so I try Workflow 2

Bug 2 (Workflow 2) : Plays correct but cut to timeline 1 after 2min

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Workflow 1
Timeline 1: 2min.
Fullscreen, one channel: unchecked "respect content length"

Content test 1 -> Only MRSS (Plays all movies in the feed perfectly to finish)

Content test 2 -> Image resources and HTML5 + MRSS (Bug 1)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Workflow 2:
Timeline 1: 2min.
Fullscreen, one channel: checked "respect content length"

Content -> Image resources and HTML5 (Plays correct)

Timeline 2: 2min.
Fullscreen, one channel: unchecked "respect content length"

Content -> Only MRSS (Bug 2)

------------------------------------------------------------------

As you see I cannot find a way around the bugs. Really hope this can be fixed, as it makes us choose between only MRss movies and "Other content".

« on: October 16, 2012, 02:09:34 PM »
The system checks for new content everytime the feed ends,

Good!

no way to control the sequence on how the feed plays as this depends on how the feed was programmed.

Like criley says, the MRSS is randomized, so we have no control of the sequence. Really hope you can remove or create a checkbox to turn random off, admin.
