SignagePlayer / Watchdog not reporting back correctly
« on: March 16, 2015, 09:14:46 AM »
Over half of my players are not reporting back correctly (all players are windows 7, across 3 separate business campaigns).  The players are set to reboot everyday, but even that doesn't fix the watchdog issue.  I've getting open green circles on those players, pings are occurring every minute, the snapshot still works, I can't reboot the signage player software from the studio, and rebooting the player works but has issues.  If I click reboot, the connection will go in the red, status will report "Reboot Station…", the player will freeze and can take up to ten minutes before the player will actually reboot.

If the watchdog crashes, I get an error message on screen, and nothing will happen until someone manually closes the box and restarts the player or software.

Its complete random if or when the watchdog will work correctly.  I also have notified that timeline updates aren't alway occurring until I do a manual reboot of the player.  I'm assuming this is a watchdog related issue as well.

any help at all getting this to run into a more stable environment would be really helpful.

SignageStudio / Tweets vs. Tweets and Replies

Is it possible to link the Twitter Feed to just Tweets and not include twitter replies?

New features and suggestions / Skip missing media
« on: February 23, 2015, 10:04:43 AM »
If a resource file has been deleted, and not removed from the timeline, the playback will just go black and stay in black.  Is it possible to make the timeline when it reaches a missing resource file either skip it or at least only play black during the length of the missing resource then continue with the rest of the timeline?  Often are timelines are quite long, we find it is quite easy to miss "???" items in the timeline.

SignagePlayer / Common Channel not looping on some players
« on: October 25, 2012, 05:03:12 PM »
I have 7 players playing a common channel that is about 15 minutes long.  The output changes every three minutes to show weather.  Each player has its own outputs so the weather is unique to each location.  Now each are setup exactly the same within the campaign, and just have different output, but 2 of the 7 won't loop the channels.  So after 15 minutes it just goes to black.  Except every 3 minutes it will show the jpeg I built for a background for the weather output, but none of the other channels appear...weather, time, or the common channel...  Why would that happen on only 2 machines?  All of the them are the Media Signage Players.

Also not, switched up the outputs between the machines to make sure it was an player issue and not a campaign or output issue.

SignageStudio / Output duration limited?
« on: September 11, 2012, 03:45:54 PM »
I have a timeline that is 22 minutes 40 seconds long.  I can enter the time line and output durations manually, but my output only appears to go to 16:40, I can't drag it any further. I can see the full timeline, and the output says it is the full duration, but I can't make the bar go any further and 16:40.
Any ideas why?

We are currently in the process of transition our old digital signage system to mediaSignage using mediaBoxes.  Our current system in player run from a digital signage box out to a splitter that feeds 4 TV screens. We also have the same setup using DVD players with HDMI outs.  However, when we swap the mediaBox in there place, the signal fails to feed out.  I can get a signal if I bypass the splitter and only go to one TV. If I split the signal between two TVs on will have lost of noise in the picture and the second will just flicker on and off.  I take it there isn't enough power coming out of the Graphics board.  Is there anyway to get a better signal?

(just a side note, I have to use HDMI because the entire building was built with HDMI ports to all the mounted TV screens)
