SignagePlayer / How to automatically update Adobe Air?
« on: April 04, 2014, 12:15:33 PM »

We have many desktop players on our digital signage network, and so we're wanting to find a way to automatically update Adobe Air without having to manually login to each machine and download the latest Air version so that the MS software works. Does anyone know how to do this?

Report bugs and errors / Password limitations in software - FYI

Just letting you know that you are unable to use an exclamation mark "!" in a password in order to login to the studio software on a Windows machine. Mac works fine.

Inside the enterprise account, you can use an exclamation mark setting the password, but when trying to enter the password in upon login to signage studio it does not allow you to type the character.

SignageStudio / Need to address SignageStudio Desktop crashing issue ASAP
« on: February 27, 2013, 08:11:49 PM »
This post is to directly address the crashing issue that SignageStudio has currently. It's probably a message directly to admin more than anything...

Studio crashes ALL the time for us. We are all on different operating systems, different computers, and it equally crashes just as much for everyone. Something is definitely wrong. We are very frustrated with it. It's also causing quite the productivity issue with our creative team because of it crashing all the time it's causing us to have to re-do the same work 2-3 times each time. I would like to see admin seriously address this problem and not respond with a generic IT helpdesk approach. It is not our system or environment because we've tested on multiple platforms and OS's and hardware. If we are having these issues, I'm sure everyone else is also... perhaps it's an Adobe AIR version issue? We are all running the latest version all the time.

Admin... please provide feedback, thanks!

SignagePlayer / MediaDROID ZX able to play in Portrait Mode?
« on: November 20, 2012, 08:26:53 AM »
I can only find settings for Landscape Mode - but we have an application where we need to display the presentation in Portrait Mode
as the screen will be mounted vertically. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Secondly, If not, we'll have to create the content 'sideways' so it displays doing that, can a weather feed be programmed

Report bugs and errors / Found a bug related to SWF files
« on: November 15, 2012, 11:43:35 AM »
When I upload the SWF file, I have the option under resources to choose 3rd party swf, trust content and flex module. When you click on any of the 3, it puts a check mark beside it and unselects the check mark from the other one. If you save it, the 3 check marks are there but visually they aren't until you save it. So you just have to know that you clicked it when you save the resource...

Since we've upgraded to 4.0x, all of our players seem to be crashing a lot more. It's not just the signage player software, it's the whole system (Win7e). Customers are calling complaining that the TV is just showing a blue screen saying "fatal error". Just wanted to check and see if anyone else is having this problem at all? Trying to pinpoint the issue here asap.

Just curious to know how everyone is going about mounting the mediaBOX to the back of an LCD panel. A typical installation where a flat & tilt mount is used, is a bit easier because you can just rest the mediaBOX behind the screen. However, on an installation where the TV is hanging from the ceiling or on an arm-mount...where do you put the thing?

The only option I've thought of is to purchase the brackets and mount it to the wall but it's not a clean installation that way.

SignagePlayer / Version 2.2.1011 update error!
« on: October 21, 2011, 06:12:11 AM »

We have a network with 3 Mac Mini's running the SignagePlayer, and yesterday they updated to the new version 2.2.1011 and now none of them work anymore. Does anyone know what happened or how to fix? They're running on OSX Lion, brand new systems. I tried installing the old version 2.2.1088 and still no go.
