Open source Digital Signage / SDK - Check Station Status
« on: January 18, 2018, 05:34:18 AM »
Hi There, I've gotten a handle on the Pepper (or is it Jalapeno now?) SDK, and the JavaScript functions are quite easy to use and expand upon. The number one thing I was looking to do with it was the build out a means to change all stations on Campaign A to Campaign B without having to touch each one (we have quite a few boards and it gets tedious). This was easy enough to do, but one thing we also really would like to show on our Help Desk's status boards are down boards. It is already a node.js application, so integrating the SDK would be very easy, but for the life of me I don't see anywhere the connection status is presented. Given StudioLite shows it, I'm sure its somewhere, but I can't find it!

On another topic, I've been pulling apart the code to figure out the underlying API, and have managed to port some basic functions over into a .NET library; before I go too far on this, has someone already ported the SDK to .NET by any chance?

SignagePlayer / Node.js Component Question
« on: September 27, 2017, 06:20:01 AM »
I'm not sure this is the correct forum to post this, but I'm wondering two things:

1) Is it possible to get the webkit component to actually respect the width/height and x,y assigned? I also put this in the package.json file which didn't do anything, though it did respect the width/height I assigned.

2) Is there any documentation about how to go about creating the settings accessible in the studio itself?

SignagePlayer / JSONPlayer - Automatic Updates?
« on: April 13, 2017, 11:10:28 AM »
I have a JSON Player on my timeline which is being used to display prices. These are all fed via a service running on the point of sale which generates a JSON file with the prices on demand. Is there any way to get the JSON Player to automatically check for changes and update?

We have already tried setting the JSON Player to run for a shorter duration - 10 minutes - which does work, but this creates a situation where the prices fade out and then come back. Having the prices disappear and then reappear every time it updates, even if there are no changes, isn't an acceptable solution for us. Is there way to check for changes and only refresh the display when there are changes?
