What chipset is on mediaDroid, is it OMAP4470?
I still don't understand why the video-playback performance is low (360p @ 30fps) even when using mediaDROID ZX which is very powerful hardware referring to its specifications on your website. (Dual core CPU ARM cortex-A9 up to 1.8GHz, quad-core GPU.

Hello Sean

Here is another interesting STB with HDMI Input and HDMI Output, running Google TV software
http://www.vizio.com/costar. This STB uses Per-pixel Alpha Blending technology to show Google TV Menu on the top of content coming from  HDMI-in (Cable, STB etc)

Hello Admin

This is the Android Stick I mentioned on my last post www.androstick.com.
However there is a better product coming up within this summer from Adlink. It contains a Dual Core CPU, up to 1.5Ghz each core, Encoding/Decoding capability up to 1080p and the price will not be more that 150USD. Please check the demonstration on this link where this product is playing 2 simultaneous 1080p videos and showing a RSS feed at the same time. http://youtu.be/E56cwsu_Luk

There are already on the market several USB DVB-T receivers that work very well with Android, and if you guys manage to add DVB-T (component) on your MediaSignage Android application then this could be the solution everyone is looking for.

There are other more powerful alternative comparing to ResberryPi at almost the same price

They are called HDMI Android Dongles running the latest Android ICS 4.0.3 with ARM Cortex A9 1Ghz CPU,  Mali 400MP Graphics Processing Unit OpenGL ES v2.0, they are able to play almost any video format with decoding capability up to 1080p,...BUT we need 3.2 released in order to take advantage of Mali GPU.  However if you would simply looking to display JPEG alone this product is more than enough.

We have this products in-house and have been playing with several signage player and I hate to say but Media Signage experience is not the best so we are really looking forward to 3.2 release.

There is another product coming out very soon, similar to the one above but with HDMI pass-through feature. This product contain an HDMI-IN and HDMI-OUT meaning that you can add content on the top of Live-TV.  I am not sure if MediaSignage R&D is willing to take advantage of such innovative products.
