SignageStudio / Passing Credentials
« on: December 11, 2013, 01:47:46 PM »
Using a URL as an RSS feed in the SignageStudio--the page sits on a domain that requires Active Directory credentials.  Does anyone know of a way to supply them?  We are using the mediaDROID and it doesn't seem to prompt for credentials, so there is no way to show the page currently.

GRAFIXMEDIA-Thank you.  I don't want to do it that way becuase end users will be changing the slide show often.  And I don't want them to have access to the SignageStudio.  The way I have it configured they can just drag and drop the photos they want in the slideshow into a folder on our webserver, and it will dynamically update the sldie show.

I solved my issue by using a scene.  Created a scene with custom RSS player.  Using the Custom RSS Item "resource" I was able to create a photo slide show that pulls from our sharepoint web server.

I was able to solve this by creating a scene, and using the custom RSS player.  I added in the "resource" RSS item, and pointed the feed to the correct folder, and it works like a charm.

SignageStudio / RSS Feed
« on: November 15, 2013, 06:28:23 AM »
I am attempting to create an RSS feed of images pulling from our webserver.  Sharepoint is creating the RSS feed.  When I insert the RSS feed into the "RSS News" component, I get a scrolling list of the files, however the images themselves do not display.  If I put the URL into the "MRSS Feed" component I get no content at all.

Anyone know if there is something I need to change within Digital Signage, or could this be a problem with the RSS feed itself?

Havne't figured it out yet.  Currently am trying to use an RSS feed out of sharepoint to display the images, but I am only getting a list of the items.  I will address this in a different post...pretty much have given up on the way I was trying to make it work here.

The reason I don't want to use the scheduler is because I will have end users updating the slide shows, and I'd like to keep them out of the software.  If I could get the flickr RSS feed to work, that would be a viable option, since the user could just upload pics to flickr.

Not sure if my company will pay the price for premium, but I suppose it's worth a shot.

Thank you for your help.  Just to make sure I understand before I purchase the software--the premium version includes the ability to do a photo slide show without the use of third party apps?

I attempted to use the general flickr feed of api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne but when entering that URL in the MediaRSS component, nothing is showing.  I'm sure this is a simple problem, but I'm new to this and can't figure it out!

I have been searching the KB and forums--and still can't find the best way to do a photo slideshow.  Seems like it should be a fairly simple task, but I can't seem to find a good way to do it.  Anyone implemented this?

I think I solved my own problem.  I needed to pick RSS News and not Custom RSS player.

SignageStudio / Marquee/Scrolling Text

Hello--I am looking for a way to add custom text to a component that will then scroll in a marquee fashion.  I found one topic in the KB--however when I assigned a custom RSS and put the text in both the URL fields and the Title/Description fields, nothing shows up on the player.
