Yes, pricing can be difficult...
Our company, a graphic designing and printing company in Norway, offers digital signage to our customers. Not yet too much, but soon to grow

There are several providers in Norway, pricing their solutions sky high.
With MediaSignage mediaCLOUD enterprise edition, it easy enough to be competitive - meaning we can earn some good money - for a while...
MediaSignage are very visible on the Internet, so when I started Googling around, it was only a few clicks away.
However, the word FREE makes a few of us suspicious firstly, there is no one like MediaSignage out there!
Our greatest fear though, can be when - in just a matter of time - some of our customers also clicks the right keys...
For the providers, trying to earn some money, FREE is not what we like to hear - or maybe it is?
Our, till now limited experience, tells us that some of our customers cannot or do not want to spend time making screen content. They also need some help understanding how to use it, and they are not likely to call the USA, speaking other languages than Norwegian.
I guess that is where providers can earn some money.
I do not think MediaSignage ever will start charging users, meaning digital signage will stay for free in the future.
If we, as a provider offers it for free,
www.mediasignage.com is where our customers will get support, answers, use the forum and so on, and than to get paid if the customers want us to help them anyway.
I think maybe I would like it this way.
In the meantime:
Now that we can host the video support ourselves, removing unwanted movies, it would be a good idea if MediaSignage divided the first introduction movie (
http://videos.signage.me/IntroSignage.flv) into two flv-files. Than we could deselect the one telling it is all for FREE
