Enterprise edition, branding and reselling / Business Model

I don't really see an advantage to hiding the fact that the software is free.  I think the best way to go to market with media signage is to simply set them up with there own free account that includes their first initial phase of content and go from there.  Like for example:  Mr. Customer, I'll set you up with your own account that includes the software and your initial  content for x$.  Business owners do not have the time to learn how to use this software, create content and manage it to keep it fresh.  The digital signage entrepreneur has to generate the income from the content creation and content management side of the business.  Just my 2 cents.

mediaPLAYERS, Hardware and accessories / Media Box 300 Price
« on: February 25, 2014, 11:48:49 AM »
I'm receiving a lot of emails informing me that Microsoft is lowing their price of windows so they can be more competitive against tablets etc......  Probably junk email but if not, Just curious if this could possibly bring down the cost of the Media Box 300.  I really wish we had a windows player for around $400..  The droid is not trustworthy enough and $600 or $700 is a tough sell to a small business owner like a coffee shop or auto repair shop. Plus I have to put at least 10% on top to make it worth a sales call.   After screen, installation, content and media player, we're looking at $1500 plus.
$400 could close more deals.  Heck, my laptop runs windows 8 and I purchased this for $500 dollars and it runs swf's, hd video and stll's flawlessly.  Plus I have a million other programs on top.  I've read some comments about members building their own but I'd like to support the cause.

SignageStudio / Re: Flypaper swf accessing csv file on web server

Really disappointed to see all the Sr. members struggling with the flypaper/bannersnack compatibility issue.  I've purchased both and all sorts of irregular activity seems to occur.  The only work around I've found is to convert all the swf files into mp4 files and use these.  But the loss of resolution is hard to hide.  Still hoping for a solution.

I have resources that I'd like to apply to other Business accounts.  Is there a way to retrieve a resource from one account and simply apply to the timeline of another account without going through the uploading process all over again?  Thanks!

I removed a boarder around one of the channels at that helped a bit, at least I did not have a boarder coming on the screen at a different time than the resource.  Just wondering if the size of the screen is a factor in transitioning too?

SignageStudio / Transitions between Timelines

I'm running 3 channels on a timeline and when transitioning to the next time line all three channels come on at various times.  I'd like a smooth transition.  I'm simply using JPG's in 2 channels and a simple embedded RSS in the 3rd channel.  Running on windows XP and another station is using droid 150.  Is this a processor issue or does anyone have any other ideas.  Thanks!

You can also go to Flashxml and type in 3D Carousel.  This will pull up a couple files that act just like the one in Sean's video tutorial.  It cost $12.00.
I downloaded it with no problem.

Enterprise edition, branding and reselling / Upgrade to Enterprise
« on: December 25, 2013, 04:30:47 PM »
Trying to create a enterprise reseller account.  I'm being directed to a page that says:  Click inside the Signage Studio to upgrade, and an arrow is pointing to a upgrade icon located to the left of the twitter icon at the top of the studio page.  However, there is no upgrade icon in my studio page.  I downloaded the signage studio just recently so I should have the most recent version.  Any ideas?

SignageStudio / Re: Applying Boarder to Resource inside scene
« on: December 24, 2013, 05:27:22 AM »
You're right, it looks fine on my desktop signage player and I'm running windows 8.  I was just hoping there was some trick I could apply to the droid system that would allow the boarder effect to stick.  Thanks for the response!!!

I figured it out.  1600x900 is my laptop resolution size.  That was the issue.  KM

SignagePlayer / desktop player in windows 8 and resource size inside scenes
« on: December 23, 2013, 06:39:51 AM »
My resource is 1920x1080 inside a scene that is 1920x1080.  It does not appear this way when running the desktop signage player. skewing.
I had this issue when running the same scene on the droid 100 and i read that I should size the resource to 1280x720 while keeping the scene 1920x1080 and that fixed the issue on the droid.
I was hoping the same fix would apply to the desktop signage player running on my hp laptop running windows 8 but this is not the case.  Any ideas?

SignageStudio / Applying Boarder to Resource inside scene
« on: December 23, 2013, 03:42:11 AM »
I'm able to apply the boarder to a resource inside a scene however when I save and upload it does not appear on the screen.  It does show in the studio but not the screen.  Using media droid 100.  Anybody? Bueller? Thanks!

SignagePlayer / Re: SWF AS3 xml reading problem
« on: May 22, 2013, 11:49:28 PM »
Can u explain in more detail please.
I'm also using a swf that is pointing to an xml file.  I'm using this as an image scroller. Works fine on my desktop but....
Can I upload this logic to my resources and assign to a channel?
This file contains multiple instructions, is studio capable of doing this?  Thanks!

OK that's a nice offer Sean and I will take u up on it.  But Th (newbie member) made a couple of key points under my media 300 search. I've copied his post here"

But I'm quite puzzled as I did the test on the Mediabox 300 and my own laptop (it's a i7 though) and exactly the same resolution, content clips.
It displays very nicely on my laptop (no video tears and nice rounded edges) but on the Mediabox 300 it just disappoints.
Admin - any reasoning why?
I did the following;
1. Used SUPER, Freemaker VideoMaker, Adode Media Encoder C5
2. FLV - H264, 1 and 2 passes, highest quality, high bitrates and also the 3600kbs
3. SD - 720x576i and HD 1280x720p materials
Everytime, the videos look really nice from my laptop running the player.
but everytime, the video still tears and is jagged when played back on the Mediabox 300.
Admin - any reason why? I can only think of the processor and graphics card my laptop has over the mediabox - core i7 vs i5, intel media graphics accelerator (onboard)vs hd3000 (your new on board).
Is there a graphics driver I need to update?
Please help!

My response Bergerad:  This seems to be a key point.  How can my i7 laptop that I purchased for $800 run the signage player so smoothly while also handling a butt load of other programs and people using the m200 and m300 that is a designated player have issues?  I'm reading post of people pointing fans for cooling and jagged edges etc...... I don't have time for that.  I'd rather pay $1000 plus for security and longevity. Like maybe a media 600 series.  Just trying to make my point.  But if u really think this m300 is good, I'll try it for 60 days.  But I'm running after effects templates, HD, Flash and all kinds of content.  I want to grow with my creative content not stop.  Thanks! Also, a video link where I could see the m300 in action would be nice too.  Cheers!  Good job on your video tutorials, very good work.
