Title: Creating a Custom Rom (Android)
Post by: jnpapp26 on November 09, 2015, 10:15:26 AM
We are trying to make a custom rom for our Android Deployments.  Has anyone successfully made a Custom Rom that incorporated the SignagePlayer and WatchDog.  Everytime we tried it we could not get them to install correctly.

We found the fix.  Just need to add the apk to the /system/preinstall, also modify the preinstall script in system/bin.  The script needs system/bin/install -r

Interesting. I was wondering if anyone had a ROM created. I know that DS is using their own for the devices that they sell. Do you mind sharing a little more information about this and what devices you are doing this on. I am in Canada and have to purchase local boxes because of the dollar value and fees. They have the same specs as DS, but have failed on some campaigns. We are now switching to Windows devices and have had no problems as of yet. They cost double of what the Android devices are.

You can pm me or send me an email from my profile if you have time.

Thanks
