Title: Media RSS component - as useful as a bucket with holes?
Post by: digsaw on December 20, 2012, 02:32:27 PM
So some of the in-software examples work. But I am having a terrible time finding any media RSS feeds out there on the web that will work. Some work in the studio but dont work in the desktop player. Some work in the studio intermittently and never on the desktop player (for example click away and then click back). Sometimes you get the loading bar, sometimes you dont. Very frustrating. What types of media RSS does SignageStudio support. Because so far I am drawing dead on every one I have tried.

Interesting because the CNN examples are pdocasting content from 2011. It has the republican primaries as one of the videos. LOL.

MRSS is something many companies have moved away from in favor over other newer technologies such as web inline HTML5 content and social media.
We however still support it but its up to you to find content. ScreenFeed would be one that you can use for great content, but it's not free.
Don't kill the messenger.

We use screenfeed as the admin suggested.  It's expensive, but some of their stuff is well worth it.

It's very useful and the only way to play videos dynamically as I know of. We create our own feed that mediasignage plays 24/7  :)

Had some trouble with other content tho, and really hope it will be fixed but still no answer from the admins/devs.
