Can we add a column in the resources item lists where we can sort by date added to resources?

It usually adds the new items at the bottom but that's not always the case.

General discussion on the mediaCLOUD / Post URL

Is there a way to send up a campaign/timeline to send a post to another station/campaign to tell it to play a specific timeline?

For example... If Station #1 is playing through movie trailers and it starts playing the movie trailer for Jurassic Park, I'd like it to send a command to Station #2 for Station #2 to start showing the movie poster for Jurassic Park.

I've been able to successfully set up Station #2 to listen for the event and it works when I run the command from terminal - curl "http://[localipofstation#2]/sendLocalEveventName=jurassicpark" but I can't seem to figure out how to properly get Station #1 to send the message appropriately to Station #2.

Any help or workarounds for this would be much appreciated, thanks!

SignagePlayer / Directory for media files

Sorry if this is a repeated topic but Is it possible to set the directory to store media on a different hard drive than on the main drive? I have external drives that I'd like to use for storing my media files.

Thanks IPNDDS - That is a good real world example of what we are trying to talk about.

I've also run across issues with slow connections where the video starts downloading at it's spot in the playlist but doesn't finish before the next resource is scheduled to play. Sometimes it will start downloading where it left off but other times I've had it stop trying to re-download and the resource gets cut short and just repeats the downloaded but incomplete file.

No, this has nothing to do with the timeline or campaigns. This is just in the signage studio when you navigate to the Resources page in the Navigation. When you do this it auto-plays the file at the top of the list, even when you change or navigate folders. Just requesting that we have to push the Play button if we'd like it to play. There is not option on the resource to "turn off" I'm not sure what mati 6 is referring to

Any chance we can have the Total Time updated with the upload of resources? This would be convenient to not have to upload and then turn around and download the file to have this auto populated.

It would be wonderful to be able to turn off the autoplay feature on the resources page. It's a minor thing but gets annoying everything to navigate to it and the video elements just start playing and gets very repetitive over time.

How can you say that it downloads in the background when you clearly see the loading bar every time that it is supposed to play but hasn't fully downloaded yet? I really don't think my definition of downloading in the background is what you are thinking it's doing... I'd prefer all the files to download regardless if they are scheduled to play at that time but if they exist in the timeline. As it is now they don't start downloading until they are assigned to play. Am I missing something?

Bump. Any news on this? Background downloading would make a big difference to us. Some locations have terrible internet connections and we end up having skipping ads and errors all the time at these locations. Being able to download the ad without trying to play it first would solve this issue.

Which media player do you recommend for 4K output with SignagePlayer  software?

I have found that the player may support that resolution between multiple screens but I haven't seen true 4k resolutions on a single 4k display yet.

Just to share my findings, the first gen Intel stick didn't not hold up with video playback before erroring or freezing up. However, the new generation of Intel sticks has been playing back 1080p videos flawlessly, the Intel® Atom Quad-Core Processor Z3735F is not sufficient enough for videos but will work with stills.
