Report bugs and errors / Re: Not working with Avermedia
« on: May 05, 2015, 05:35:26 AM »
We've also encountered issues with Avermedia through SignagePlayer. We have managed to find stability by sticking with 32 bit Windows 7 operating system. I honestly haven't experimented on Windows 8 much.

SignagePlayer / Re: Security Alert Certificate
« on: April 09, 2015, 10:31:11 AM »
Admin, by "correct date/time" do you mean relative to the time zone that the player is running in? I'm curious as to how this variable would be referenced if it is an issue. Does SignagePlayer have its own internal time that needs to match the OS or the BIOS of a hardware player? Or does it have to do with the mediaCLOUD (your servers) which would be PST? Please help us understand this. I have systems across multiple time zones.

SignagePlayer / Re: Security Alert Certificate

I posted about this months ago. Have been having the same problem for a long time. Not sure what causes it. Admin has not been able to shed any light on the issue. I'm using custom rss and the HTML component, pulling from facebook.com, instagram.com, twitter.com, and some other domains. My guess is that it's the domains that are somehow causing it. Very inconsistent as to when it appears. Multiple clients but no clear pattern as to who gets affected. Sometimes message appears twice in one day. Sometimes once in two weeks.

New features and suggestions / New Feature Voting
« on: March 06, 2015, 02:00:37 PM »
Could you implement a feature on the website or forum where we can vote for the most desired features? If you take your road map and listed each one so that we could vote on them, it would help you gauge the level of importance of where to prioritize. I'm desperate for the improved HTML component and the native capture support. Maybe I'm alone in that regard or maybe everyone else thinks the same. Let's put it to a vote to help determine where the priority lies. Anyone else agree?

Same here. Admin did post a screenshot somewhere in another thread of it working properly on their side. Apparently that's supposed to prove that we are the ones at fault and they are blameless.

Report bugs and errors / Re: New EXE and Avemedia Issues
« on: February 24, 2015, 07:37:15 AM »
We've experienced the same issues. We did hours of testing and seemed to find that running AverMedia on a 32 bit system as opposed to a 64 bit system is MUCH more stable and problem free. The occasional glitch does occur, but definitely a huge improvement on 32 bit.

All tests conducted on Windows 7 Home and Embedded operating systems with various versions of SignagePlayer including the EXE. I still don't trust the EXE version and stick  primarlily with the Air version.

Report bugs and errors / Re: Issue displaying PNG files
« on: February 12, 2015, 11:51:24 AM »
Did you repost this or did someone else post about a similar issue? I remember reading about someone having an issue displaying images which began suddenly around January 22nd/23rd. That thread has been removed for some reason.

I also noticed an issue with the HTML component that stopped pulling images in our custom Twitter application on the morning of the 23rd. I still contacted Live Chat and they told me it was because Twitter changed their API. I believed them, but when I saw someone else had a similar issue starting on the same date (again, thread now gone), I began to have my doubts.

You are not alone, but it seems they don't want this issue to be heard.

Yes. I've reported the uninstall issue and they told me to just remove from Program Files.

Report bugs and errors / Cursor Appearing Randomly
« on: February 06, 2015, 02:53:18 PM »
We're experiencing the Windows cursor popping up in the center of the screen after a couple of hours of presentation playback. Does not disappear unless mouse/keyboard is clicked or system restarted. Seems to be occurring in one specific campaign which is running on 3 different systems:

Windows 7, Intel i3 - Player v.4.20.48
Windows 7, Intel i3 - Player v.4.20.48
Windows 8.1, Intel i3 - Player v.4.32.37

Kiosk mode is not enabled.

SignagePlayer / Re: 4.30.22 Issues
« on: February 06, 2015, 06:54:55 AM »
We have found that AverMedia very often does not auto load the capture feed (among other weird bugs) on 64bit systems. Switch back to 32bit and it works just fine. Not sure if this is an issue confined to Windows 7, as we have not tried any other OS.

Do you have an ETA on the webkit upgrade?

I've manage to isolate this being a problem with the HTML component. I have some custom apps using javascripts which seem to cause Player to crash now and then. As with most problems with this software, it's hit or miss when the problem occurs. Sometimes it handles the script fine, sometimes it does not. I've run the apps on a dedicated player for several hours now, and can determine the app crashes about 60% of the time. Enough to make this a problem for my clients.

What's most frustrating is that it's not a YES or NO bug. The fact that the script can be handled some of the time indicates to me that it's not far off from being capable.

Have emailed mstech to see if they can look into and confirm the crash on their end. Live Chat does not even answer my chat requests anymore.
