SignagePlayer / Re: Which is the best feed type?

Thanks for the reply...
The problem I find with mrss is the load time.  If your feed is frequent and the player has to load the data every time, I get the loading status bar showing on the screen for a short period of time.  If there is a way to stop this from happening, I would love to know.

SignagePlayer / Which is the best feed type?
« on: September 18, 2014, 11:36:04 AM »
Want to throw a question out to the digital signage community around feed types.  With so many, I sometimes get confused which is best based on my situation.
Generally speaking, which is best feed type that allows for quick loading and uses the least player resources?  When I was acquiring feeds from screenfeed, bluefox, and digichief, they all wanted to know what delivery method I preferred.  There was html, flash, mrss, mp4, xml, download links, delivery boy, etc and does it matter if it is a periodic feed versus a realtime feed or if it is video versus text/images.
I am using media signage players (200's and 300's) usually connected to the internet wirelessly.

Thanks for your input!

For the benefit of the other users, I was able to get this fixed with the help of the online chat.  Basically, if you are experiencing this problem, you will need to clear your cache on your desktop studio player by deleting the signage studio player folder and resigning back in.  You can find this folder at this location:
C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\SignagePlayer.XXX .  Do not delete the "signage studio" folder but the "signage studio.xxxxxxxxx" folder

SignagePlayer / Re: signage player network down?

Thanks for responding JMH...
I am not a new user so I know the application pretty well.  The scenarios you described did not cause the issues I was experiencing.  I do appreciate you trying to help me...
The media players were in different locations with different settings and content.  The weird thing is all the boxes were idle on the main windows screen (the signage player software never activated and they were set up in real station mode).  They all came back on-line about 90 minutes later without my intervention which tells me that there was some type of application problem.

SignagePlayer / signage player network down?

Wanted to check with the group to find out if anyone else's players went offline around 4:48 pst today (Sunday).  All of my players stopped running the signage player software and after restarting them through team-viewer, I cannot take a snapshot.  Additionally, my live tv (avermedia software) will not start up

I have a question about virus protection for media players.  Should I be concerned about not having virus protection installed on my network of media signage 200 and 300 players?  Any suggestions?

SignageStudio / Re: Flash SDK video tutorial

Thanks for the tip...The site does have many options.  Did you integrate the code into the signage studio or did you create flash files to import?

SignageStudio / Flash SDK video tutorial
« on: December 07, 2013, 11:29:06 PM »
Hi all,
I am new to signage studio and am just getting the hang of how it works.  I really like the software!  I have a question about one of the video tutorials, flash SDK.  Within that tutorial, there are 2 examples of custom scenes that supposedly are available called "Carousel 3D" and "DepGallery". I really like these but cannot find them in the location shown in the tutorial.  As a matter of fact, it appears that the naming conventions of all the scenes start with "sample" making it impossible to find an appropriate scene.

Does anyone know how I can get my hands on the carousel 3D and DepGallery scenes?

Thank You!
