SignagePlayer / Has anyone used this with a Raspberry Pi?
« on: November 20, 2018, 02:51:01 AM »

Either via an installed app, or just a web browser, has anyone used DigitalSignage on a Raspberry Pi 3?  I have two TVs that I want to put internal announcement type slides on.  We have a Raspberry Pi on each one so I'm trying to find something that will work with that.  I haven't found much so far but am hoping this might work since it has a browser option.

Anyone know if it would work or not?

SignagePlayer / Anyone tried using the Player on an Amazon Fire TV?
« on: June 08, 2018, 03:53:55 PM »
Looking for something cheap to plug into the back of our TVs but don't see an official Amazon app for the player.  I know the TVs mostly run Android but don't know if anyone has ever tried to make these work.

Does anyone use one of those little Android boxes that plug directly into your TV along with the signageplayer app?  We have some TVs that have the Intel Compute Sticks connected but had one fail.  Since the Android stick things are much cheaper, and there appears to be a digital signage app, I thought maybe we'd give that a try.

Also, the only thing we really use this for is to play a slideshow.  We have images that stay for 8 seconds and go to the next one.  No fancy videos or other things.

SignageStudio / Multiple Outputs to shrink one screen a bit?
« on: December 08, 2016, 02:07:56 PM »

I have two outputs because some of my TVs have a larger bezel that covers part of the screen.  So I made a second output that's a little bit smaller so it fits better.  However, I have a weather scene on the right side and now it's cutting off some of the words.  Is there any way to tell an element to center itself in the available space instead of hard coding an X/Y position for each item?  Or is there some other way I can get this to work without having to create a separate Weather scene just for this?

This is working fine.  I was just playing the preview within the editor and figured it would scale things to fit the window but it didn't.  Once I watched it on an actual screen it worked fine.

SignageStudio / Can a timeline end without resetting scrolling items?
« on: December 08, 2016, 11:04:12 AM »

I have a timeline where the main section is jsut under 2 minutes long.  It's basically a slideshow of various images.  Underneath that I have a scrolling RSS feed and a scrolling Stock ticker.

Currently, when the main timeline ends (when the last picture is shown) everything goes back to the beginning so the stock ticker and RSS feeds reset back to the beginning.  Is there any way to have those two items just scroll on their own and not be affected by the actual timeline?

E.g. If I have 100 stocks in my ticker and the main images end when it's only on symbol 20, can the images reset but the ticket just keeps going unaffected until it reaches the end of the symbol list and then it will start over?  And same with the RSS feed based on however many items the feed pulls in.

Hopefully that makes sense.

I was actually just playing it from within the editor on my own computer.  Maybe that caused it to not show up properly but my resolution is at least as high as what I had it set to.

I'll take another look tomorrow.

SignageStudio / Scene size vs Screen Division size?
« on: December 07, 2016, 02:15:59 PM »

I created a screen that is 1920 x 1080.  I then divided it in 3 part so the right part is 380 x 860.  Tall and Skinny.  I wanted to put some weather information in that area.

I then created a Scene and set the Scene Size also to 380 x 860.  This made the checkboard area change to be tall and skinny.  I then setup my stuff to fit in the checkboard area.  However, when I dropped it on my timeline and ran it the stuff is way off the screen and doesn't fit hardly at all.

Is there a reason this is happened?  I want the Scene size to reflect the actual size so when I'm designing the layout I'm working in the actual space it will be displayed in.  Not sure if I did something wrong or what.

General discussion on the mediaCLOUD / Re: Simple slideshow? New user

Well,  I played around with it and think I actually got it working.  Created a timeline, added some pictures, installed the player, and it seems to be working.

One question I do have is..  Since I have to specify a duration for the Timeline, and I could have any number of images that I need to show at a given time, do I have to manually change the duration for the Timeline and Channel every time I add or remove an image from my lineup?

Other than that my slideshow seems to be working OK.

Brand new to digitalsignage.com and am not sure which product I should be looking at or even if it matters.  All we want to do is have a bunch of TVs in our office showing some announcement type information as part of a slideshow.  Each TV has a computer connected to it that currently goes to a website but we are ending our agreement with what we currently use and I'm looking for an alternative.  They will all show the same information and it's just picture after picture like a powerpoint would be.

I'm assuming this program can do that without any problems but I just wanted to know if it matters if I use the cloud option or not or if there's anything else I need to know.  I didn't see a slideshow listed in the video tutorial section so if there's an easy instruction set I can follow to get this up and running, that'd be great too.
