What is the file name you are uploading?
Make sure it only has standard ascii characters (1-9 a-z etc...) no % or $ or & ....
Thanks for the quick response.
It is a Rich Text element and contains the letters "A B C". The error still occurs.

What I think admin means, is that the filename itself mustn't contain any special characters. What the contents of the file is, doesn't matter as much. Try renaming the file to something like "upload.rtf".

We expect 4.0 to be in final release in late August or early September.

That's great, but do you have to wait for the whole thing to be finished before you can release a fix for this bug? We're depending on the ad engine to create our revenue.

No access to the file you linked. Upload it again.

Unfortunately few weeks is BEST case scenario.

I don't want one to hang you up on it, but can you give a new ETA on the fix? I'm currently experiencing the same problems as OP.

SignageStudio / Re: Displaying text from a WORD doc.

But in the end, that solution would mean that all formatting was lost.

I'm currently looking into solving the almost exact same problem that you have, tmmths.
What I have working right now is a python-script that runs serverside, converting the clients .doc-files to .html using Microsoft Words own .doc-to-.html algorithms. By then uploading the .html (that also has the formatting from the .doc) to an ftp-server, you can view the text in signageplayer by using a HTML-component instead of the xml. I use dropbox to keep the files up to date between my computer (server) and the clients computer.

If you're interested in the source code, reply here. I'll upload it for you.

@Admin, could you perhaps elaborate on the pre-loading channel/content part? Especially optimizing loading-times is in my focus right now. Would this help run HD-video (flv.h264) more smoothly? Thanks in advance. (If you have any other tips on optimizing playback, please do tell)

I found the response a little vague. To anybody else trying to get the XML/Facebook/QR-code/etc. component to show, log in with your enterprise account. From there, press the mediaSTORE tab -> 'Not installed' -> and then install the components you want.

It seems like even though we export our ads to the exact size of the screen division they're being played in, they still appear stretched/transformed? We have no borders enabled.
Any suggestions?

SignageStudio / Re: HTML Component - Configuration Box

Noob here trying to figure out the configuration box commands on the HTML Component.

Is there any basic list of commands or documentation?

I am trying to get an HTML report to scroll top to bottom.

If I understand you correctly, you could do this with javascript instead. (As you can see if you link the external html to, javascript is enabled.)

This script should scroll the text for you:
Just upload it somewhere, and edit the stuff you want.

We had the same issue, and also explored the possibility of using a user-generated RSS-feed. However, we found a simpler and more satisfactory solution.

Use the external html object in MediaSignage, along with a simple script that scrolls text vertically. A good one can be found in the link in the bottom of this post. Simply point the ext. html to the document on a server, and allow user access through ftp. We made it with notepad++ and the NppFTP plugin.

Bumknee, did you find a solution to this? This is exactly the same issue we're having.
