SignagePlayer / Signage Player freezes
« on: January 18, 2018, 03:12:08 AM »

I have a problem with several Signage Players at clients. After a while the players freeze (not synchronously) so the content doesn't update.

Have any of you experienced something similar and found a solution?

Thanks in advance!

guess i could try that.

But the profile have been running for almost 2 years, without any problems.

This started about 2 months ago and has been doing it since. So was looking for a way to monitor their data flow.

have 25 other clients running more or less the same profile and the same type of inet. But they have no problems.

The machine is not running wifi, so nobody has the possiblity to hijack the connnection and youtube the data away.

Hello all

Have a few clients running their station thru a mobile internet subscription. Within a few days, maximum a week, their gigabites are gone used up on SignagePlayer data only.

Have read inhere about a few people using a program to control the dataflow but have been unable to find anything usefull.

Any recommendations about what to use to limit the data traffic ?

The data files are small but if they reload on every cycle it adds up.

Guess they could turn off their connection when the machine has been turned on and is up and running in the morning. But do not want the screen going black when the internet is cut. As seems to be a problem sometimes.

Any help is much appreciated.

Anything new on this topic ?

Have a client with limited data usage.

and 4 days into the month they run out !

Atm all they have is weather update. 3 Html pages with text (that rarely changes) and a news feed.

Looking for a way to limit the data flow and have it run on a buffer for say 1-2 hours before doing an update of data.

Any way to control this thru the player or an ext app that works well with signage player ?

Any help would be much appriciated..

SignagePlayer / Problems showing in html5.

So have a client who has a link to https://kluboffice2.dbu.dk/output/infosystemMatches.aspx?clubid=1021     that i need to show thru the player.

But the html5  feature wont eat it. Guessing its the "https" beeing the problem.

So tried doing an iframe of it and showing that. same problem .

My browsers have no problem seeing them, but the player does..

Is there a cool fix to make it show or am I forced to use the extApp to show it ?

Tried updating to latest version. Will see if that solves the problem.

Strange problem tho, since we have never seen it happen to any other clients.

Hello all

Have a client with a bug I havnt seen before.

Then machine normally runs fine but after a while it does this

If I log on to the machine with teamviewer, run it full screen and then tab in out of the Player it goes back to full screen and works again without any problems..
So its not the Player that crashes.

Not really sure where to begin on this problem. If its a player bug or a windows feature I need to turn on/off.

And was wondering if others have had this problem and maybe found a solution..

Currently running win7 and version 5.0.68 on the machine.

thnx in advance.

window.attachEvent("onload, initializerScroller)

Have been reading thru these. And feel there is an answer somewhere in there. But cant get it to work.

Anyone inhere that understand it better than I do, and can give me an idea of how to set it up so it works ?
