Isn't it humorous that customers don't really care about all the techno uberness thats built into a product...

They know what they want though...and thats pizazz. Wow-factor if you will.

So here I stand, between the clients wishes and the programmers prowess with most of our client presentations ending with:

..."its kinda choppy" don't ya think.
..."More slideshow than TV" don't ya think.
..."Can you make it more like PowerPoint..."

Its great that we now have 88 languages... but ya gotta remember if it does not present the tools to hold the users attention...it doesnt matter what language its in.

what are we selling but...a digital photo frame right now. *yawn*

transitions are the visual queue that the topic is changing, they provide the lead-in to anticipate something else...your missing the boat by treating it like a frivelous add-on 'feature' and not a core visual element.

I  would gladly trade ALL the work you've done on sounds (since customers turn off the sound once they've been droned by it in the loop) for just a decent Fade-out/in.

Great work on all those bug fixes!

...I know the dust hasn't even settled yet but...

Where's the Transition effects...

Is not the WatchDog utility to be uninstalled as well??

ok....tongue-in-cheek now...

What if we call it "Not a Watchdog"...or..."The Super Nicey Nice WatchDog"

In the U.S., 'watchdog' is in itself a punitive word.
It threatens punitive measures.
I dont care what face you put on it...its still going to bite you!

Let me ask you...whose interest is being served here?
Yours or your clients, because the answer better be...thats right, your clients.

My clients dont like it, dont want it, and I cant tell you how many administrators take pause during install when a SECOND application called WATCHDOG is auto-installing!

again, my 2 cents humbly submitted.

??? my partners are pushing us back to dynasign.

Why? Because, as marketers, they don't care of the technology behind it.

They want Action, pizzaz and wow factor.

Signage without transitions have very little oomph.

What we can produce here is a slideshow, not a presentation right now.

Tell me at least when we can expect that functionality please.

Sadly, I've seen too many of these end with 'send me your login'

While the original poster may have had their issue resolved, the rest of us are left to ponder what the solution was...

How 'bout sharing the solutions...

When will we be able to choose a podcast of our own.

for instance, we'd like to play a local radio station podcast feed.

The URL input box is not editable, so only the 5 pull-downs are available.

What we want to do is share Screens, resources, Scenes in the Reseller-master account so that they are sharable to all customers.

what exactly can be shared? As we see it now, only resources have the 'share with everyone' checkbox.

yet, new customers start with a complete campaign.  Resources, Scenes, Timelines (helicoper stuff) setup as a default for new customers.

Please tell us how to do that as well.

or do we have to re-create every single screen layout, and Scene for every single customer?

New features and suggestions / transitions

I simply cannot state this more emphatically...

Not having motion transitions is killing our presentations.

I'll do without most other upgrades, but not having any motion-based transitions really hurts.

Our competition has transitions and believe me, customers notice when its not there.

Please consider an interim release.

can you explain live filtering please.

as a white label reseller:

the new customer confirmation email has no content that identifies the reseller name.

what was received:

please click on the following link to activate your new account:

it would help immensely if the reseller name is included in the subject line.

instead of the more generic: Digital Signage: Activate your account now,
subject: [business name] Digital Signage Account Activation Confirmation Request

You recently submitted a new account at: [business name]
Please click the link below to confirm your email address and activate your account.

Thank You
[business name]

btw: when this email was received, it was identified as potential spam by my outlook filter.

I gotta admit, when i first installed the airPlayer and this program called 'watchDog' was getting installed too, all my alarms went off.

While I may understand that the 'watchDog' utility simply periodically 'pings' the Player to check its status, and if its not running, to relaunch it.

Others are most definitely not going to understand this; and the others i refer to are my potential customers.

NO ONE wants a 'watchdog' program installed onto their computer. Period.

So it makes it all the more frustrating when I have to explain that its not a watchdog in the sense that most interpret it to be, when it could soo easily be avoided by renaming it to something more application specific.

How about: PlayerAutoLaunch, ChannelWatch, PlayerGuardian or anything that better identifies the utility with what it actually does.
'WatchDog' could be any general utility, and as such, is interpreted to be an activity watchdog monitor.  Not Good.

how do i as a business that produces campaigns for other businesses keep the resource files for each business seperated?

and where exactly do i place public resources that I am to call upon for every business's campaign? like our company logo.

sadly, right now, its all going into one big glorious resource pile and is quickly becoming unweildy.

New features and suggestions / keeping the user base informed

I thought i had read somewhere in here that the ability to copy a campaign was coming out in the .7 release.  Course...i cant find that now.

I now think it would be a great sticky topic to keep a non-contributable thread about upcoming release enhancements.

Well that IS good news.

So is there any way you can convert our existing account to a white label so that we don't have to re-create and re-upload all our campaigns?
