Hi,

I've replicated this issue on at least two separate computers at different locations. I'm using Web Studio.

The following menus are always selected on startup: Campaign and Stations.I then select several other menus, and logout. After logging in again I have only the same two menus selected. This issue is replicated whether I perform a graceful logoff or refresh the page.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to propose persistancy with Navigation menu choices. If a user logged out with the Catalog and Resource menus selected, they shouldn't have to reopen them one by one each time they log into the system. The same goes for any Navigation menus selected by the account.

New features and suggestions / Enhancements for Catalogs

Hi everyone,

I would like to suggest the following enhancements to the Catalog component:

1) At present the catalog player plays sequently each catagory, with absolutely no randomization. If you have multiple catalog players using the same categories playing across the same timeline (such as to display birthdays, pictures from a vacation, etc.) all players would show the exact same sequence of resources.

Workaround:  Divide the category into subcategory and balance the items across these categories. Then make each player play only that sub-category. This requires a lot of preperation and is a burden if this needs to be done on a regular basis.

2) It is not possible to check which items have been assigned to which catalogs. For example, if I want to see which pictures are assigned to "Category A" I'd have to go over each and every item and see what's assigned to this category. This is extremely taxing for categories which require constant reassignments such as weekly birthdays.  It would be far more comfortable to allow viewing which item is assigned to each category, and from that view allow removing items from that category.

3) There is no filtering option for catalog items. Once they have been added from Resources they are pushed to the bottom of the item list. If you want to search for an item to assign to a category (or update info), you have to manually search the entire list.

It would be easier to add a filter/search function, preferably one with a checkbox to search the info0 - info3 fields as well.

4) At present only four fields are supplied for each item (info0 - info3). This allows for little flexability over time, since you may need to use more than four fields to display all information for a certain resource across all the configured campaigns.

It would be preferable to allow either more fields (perhaps 10) or allowing the user to customize the schema so that they can define new fields (instead of info0 you'd have "firstName") as necessary.

5) Whenever you delete an item, the focus returns to the start of the item list. This coupled with the inability to select multiple items at once means that if you have to delete several items which are scattered across the item list, you're going to have to work hard. I would like to suggest allowing multiple selection and NOT returning the focus to the start of the item list whenever an item is deleted.

Hi everyone,

The following thread from 2011 asked whether or not backup/restore is possible for Studio-Pro. The answer being that it's on the roadmap:

I would like to revisit this request since backup and restore is a very important aspect of any disaster recovery and business continuity plan.

At present the only solution that exists would be to buy your own mediaserver, and back it up as an on-premise snapshot. This would be a costly and very inconveniant soluton for many users.

I would like to suggest implementing a backup of an account's studio, and/or allowing the export/import of an entire studio. By exporting the solution it can be stored as a backup solution without requiring any additional storage resources from cloud based accounts. Any such export solution should include all aspects of the studio including resources, screen types, catalogs, campaigns and so on.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter  :)

Hi everyone,

When taking a picture with a digital camera, the orientation is saved as part of the metadata (EXIF). Since Windows 10 takes this tag into account, even pictures taken sideways or upside down appear correctly in Windows 10.

However, uploading pictures as resources to Studio-Pro doesn't take the tag into account. This can be very problematic for those who don't use software to correct the orientation of pictures before uploading to Studio-Pro. Suddenly pictures that look normal on your computer look sideways or upside down under Resources.  Using Scenes to rotate pictures is obviously a very limited workaround since no one wants to assign Scenes based on the orientation of the original photo!

Expected behaviour:  When uploading a picture as a resource, take into account the orientation so that it will always appear correctly.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

I'm using both Android 6 and Android 8. I installed the beta client you provided, it didn't resolve the issue. In fact there are some objects that appear in the stable release that don't work in the beta client, i.e. a .png resource.

Edit:  The issue is resolved thanks to the support staff's help, and the solution consists of two parts:  Installing the beta client, and also ensuring you have the hardware resources on the Android box for the graphical changes on the timeline. The beta client performed as expected on the stronger Android box, but gave a worse experience on the lower end box. Apparently S905 chipsets aren't heavy lifters!

I've seen the following bug occur across different Android boxes (6.0 and above are in use):

1) Create a catalog item which is a picture resource (either jpg or png). Assign this item to a category.
2) Create a new scene (Catalog MIME). Add a "catalog item" component and assign it the "resource" item.
3) Within one of the channels in a timeline, add a "catalog player" component and assign the previous scene. Assign the catalog player to work with the catalog.

So far this is standard. Expected behaviour would be that every "time interval" the catalog player would show a different picture. However the picture doesn't show at all. What is shown on the Android box are fields like "name", "info0" etc. but no picture resources.

The timeline preview shows that the catalog player plays the picture resource correctly.

Things I've tried to resolve this:

1) Resize the picture (resource) to be the same size as the screen divison for the timeline.
2) Resize picture (resource), screen division AND scene to be the same size.
3) Played with background/appearance settings for catalog player, catalog item (under the scene) and the scene itself.
4) Resetting and clearing the cache for the Android players.

Any ideas what could be causing this and how to resolve it?
