Studio (Legacy / SignStudio) / .exe+External video=stuttery video

Hello.
I have a timeline where I have two screens, on one I have a video with the External video component and on the other an .exe with the ExtApp/Capture component.
The video looks stuttery, as if it were at 10fps.
No matter what .exe you use, vlc, chrome..., it always looks bad.
The video is stored internally on the hard drive and I called via internal server, ISS from windows.
I have lowered the video resolution but the problem continues.
I have tested it with an i7+RTX3070,32GB Windows 10 PRO.
Any solution?

it looks like you are using the older APK on android 8 or later

use the APK installer instead: https://galaxy.signage.me/Code/Install/apk/6.3/CloudSignagePlayer.apk

SignagePlayer / Error dialog box "NO ..."

Every time my Android SignPlayer begins to play through my designated scenes, a square error dialog box pops up in the middle of the screen with an OK button.

I cannot read the error. Whatever it says beyond "No" does not fit in the visible portion of the dialog box.

The only way to clear it is to plug in a mouse and click "OK." After awhile, it reappears. This is frustrating.

Any theories or help? Thanks in advance!

if the issue persists, try deleting the cache folder and then re-register the player.  to delete the cache folder, first stop the player then press Win+R to open the Run Command box where you will type %APPDATA% then press enter.  you will be redirected to the Roaming Profile folder where you will locate and delete all folders that start with SignagePlayer (where there are usually 2 of them).  after deleting those folders, re-register the player - see if this helps.

if the issue persist then it might be your resources - check the image and video file's resolution, dpi (for image), fps (for video) and bitrates

I recall that I've cleared the cache a few times, but that was before I had the marketing department reformat their content.
I've cleared all the caches and will monitor for crashes over the next few days.
Since they show up in event viewer, it should be easy to see if it's happened again.

first thing to try is to issue a command Clear Caching from Studio - go to Stations, on each station, highlight and then click on the Clear Caching - this should remove unused cached data and restart again

if the issue persist, it may be one of the content

I have reset my android device, one of the early digital sigange devices running kitkat4.4
I have gone through the procedure for installing but when I use total commander to open the watchdog file i the setup folder. it says having trouble parsing the file and stops.

Pleae help

I have about a dozen HTPC Windows 10 devices running 1607 (so that I can meter the connection and avoid full screen prompts from Microsoft)
They are all installed via the DigitalSignage Downloads page.
They are all running SignagePlayer version 6.4.10
They are all running Adobe Air version 28.0.0.125

They've been all running great for the last 5-10 years, until about a month or two ago.  Roughly December 2022 or January 2023.
I'll walk by the screens and they player will have crashed to desktop, and restarted via watchdog.
If I stand and watch long enough, it will do it again, but it's not the same image each time.

I've confirmed that the images are JPEG or PNG, and they are 1920x1080.
Every TV by now has died and been replaced with a 4K capable Smart TV, and Windows is set to 1920x1080 @ 100% Screen DPI.

can you please use the old legacystudio and PWA clients on the devices? or does it have to go completely to the PWA version? is this migration free if we pay monthly rent with you?

you have to use Sign Studio (web or PWA version) to be able to use Sign Player (PWA version) and Sign Watchdog - you will also need to create a new account for Sign Studio

the web app and player are free - for the use of our service, we have the free and paid (enterprise subscription)

note for android devices, you must make sure you have the latest Chrome on your device otherwise you cannot run the Sign Player
