Title: Dock visible in Mac
Post by: potterfg on July 13, 2009, 09:31:34 AM
When I run AIRPlayer on my Mac the dock remains visible on the screen.  Is there a way to hide the dock?

Are you talking about the dock at the bottom or the finder bar at the top of the screen? You can toggle the dock at the bottom to turn off in the system prefs/dock. Just click "automatically hide and show the dock".

I am looking for a way to get rid of the finder bar at the top of the screen for the AirPlayer on the Mac. If anyone has any info please let me know.

Thanks.

I was going to use an app from app4mac.com called wkiosk. It offers a way to lock and secure your desktop to a secured browser like window. In a kiosk situation or where folks have physical access to your computer it would prevent people from accessing any of your menu bars such as the Dock and upper finder bar.

Only its about $100 a lic so a bit expensive to install on all of your players. I'm a MAC guy myself, but i see the benefit and low cost of using dedicated small generic PC's as your players. IMHO... I'm very interested in this companies "business model/pricing" vs others I've come across and as long as I'm creating content from a MAC, who cares at the other end. MacMini's were my first choice, but expensive overkill

I agree ncano, and Ubuntu is my OS of choice.
