Title: Skip Bad URLS or Content
Post by: justadsguy on April 25, 2014, 01:07:07 PM
Current with MRSS feeds, from outside sources or within MS, the URL's are not always accurate or can change from the host without notice.

Sometimes it works in the browser because the browser will follow the URL if programmed that way to the new URL. MS does not.

It would be a great tool to provide a way for a 'resource call' to timeout after a certain amount of time if nothing is returned.

This would also be useful for the External Resource component. If the resource isn't there -- what happens? Does it keep looking?

When it comes to MRSS -- if the URL is invalid or has trouble loading, the system either shows a blank space or a loading line.

A pulldown option for timeout would be ideal, either on the account level or on the resource level.

Thank you.
