SignageStudio / Google Calendar Component
« on: June 10, 2015, 12:52:04 PM »
I must say I'm thrilled to have the Google Calendar Component. I can see it being very useful in my campaigns. The only issue I'm having is that the events play in the order of the "Updated" field not in order by "Start time". Before someone say something, the Random box is not checked. When I noticed the events were not sequencing correctly by start date, I added the "Updated" field to my scene and low and behold they were following that date/time sequence. Is there a way around this or is this something we can look for in a future update/release? I would assume most users would want their events to sequence by "Start date", but maybe I'm wrong.

New features and suggestions / Re: Lock Aspect Ratio in Collection

I like the scene suggestion but I can't see how I could pull this off easily. I do signage in a school and after some events I will be given a random selection of photos (some portrait and others landscape layout) to display on the stations. Not having a lot of time I like to just drop them into a Collection. It seems with the scenes I would have to had all of one layout play then the other. Am I wrong in that assumption?

New features and suggestions / Lock Aspect Ratio in Collection

I like to use the Collection component for photo slideshows. The problem comes from the fact that some pictures are taken in a portrait layout and some are a landscape layout. The screen division the Collection component is in is square and the pictures end up getting stretched to fill the screen division.

When not using the Collection component, I can insert a picture into that screen division directly and lock the aspect ratio allowing it to display without being stretched.

It would be awesome if there was a lock aspect ratio checkbox that could be used with the individual items in the Collection component.

Yes it is for a cloned/mirrored display. So, same audio and video to both screens.

I pushed out the update from 4.0.80 to 4.0.88 this morning on 6 players. 3 of the 6 must have had an issue with the update because they kept looping offline and back online. I remoted to all those stations and manually installed update 4.0.88 from the binary installer and they are all up and running. Unfortunately, since you cannot remote to the station, it may require a visit. Good luck.

mediaPLAYERS, Hardware and accessories / Re: Dual Audio Output Mediabox???

It would be the same audio to both screens. The only thing I can think of is to use a hdmi splitter and run an hdmi cable to both screens or use a vga and audio splitter and run a vga and audio cable to both screens. Has anyone done this? I'd like to get some feedback before purchasing the cables/splitters.

When using dual displays (HDMI & DVI/VGA output, plus 1/8" audio cable for VGA display), I'm only getting audio though the display  connected via HDMI not the VGA plus 1/8" audio cable. Checking the windows settings I seem to be able to get one or the other but not both. Does anyone have any experience with this and a suggestion?
