Studio (Legacy / SignStudio) / how to play videos with closed captioning
« Last post by waterfireprov on March 30, 2023, 02:27:12 PM »
Is it possible to include .srt or .sbv files along with videos in the studio?

unfortunately, the old app is already set to use port 80 therefore we cannot change this.

our newest release of the platform using Sign Studio and Sign Player uses https and sockets.  you would need to create a new account though for Sign Studio as the old Signage Studio (we are now calling it Legacy Studio) is not structurally compatible with Sign Studio.

mediaPLAYERS, Hardware and accessories / Mouse Cursor windows 7
« Last post by envision on March 24, 2023, 07:33:37 AM »
I've recently dug out an old Windows 7 PC that I want to use as a demo machine, it used to work perfectly, but after updating the signageplayer, I now have a mouse cursor in the middle of my screen when the system boots and runs on autostart (no mouse connected).

It disappears if the signage player is restarted, any idea how to get round this?

Hi, is there a way to operate the players, without the need of port 80?

My client has it cancelled due to security reasons, and it's blocking my access to the players.

Studio (Legacy / SignStudio) / Re: .exe+External video=stuttery video
« Last post by admin on March 07, 2023, 04:43:44 PM »
the video you are referring to is thru External Video component? note that whether thru resources or external link, the video will be downloaded and played thru the player's video player.  so the only way this can happen is if the video's encoding is till to high for the player (which is actually 32bit)

try to use the following video codec setting:
Video: h.264, 1920x1080 resolution, 24fps framerate, 4mbps bitrate
Audio: acc, 98 to 176 kbps bitrate, 44khz sample rate

SignagePlayer / Re: SignagePlayer 6.4.10 crash and restart every few rotations
« Last post by genopsyde on March 06, 2023, 03:53:16 PM »
So it appears that there was still 1 piece of content that was formatted in a conflicting way.
When they changed the schedule tot he new content, the crashes stopped.
I have no specific information about what the incorrect format was unfortunately, since the marketing department never narrowed it down for me.

At least if it happens again, I'll see if I can slowly build a test campaign using their live content, and add 1 item at a time until it crashes.

Studio (Legacy / SignStudio) / .exe+External video=stuttery video
« Last post by panoramix on March 06, 2023, 03:51:28 AM »
Hello.
I have a timeline where I have two screens, on one I have a video with the External video component and on the other an .exe with the ExtApp/Capture component.
The video looks stuttery, as if it were at 10fps.
No matter what .exe you use, vlc, chrome..., it always looks bad.
The video is stored internally on the hard drive and I called via internal server, ISS from windows.
I have lowered the video resolution but the problem continues.
I have tested it with an i7+RTX3070,32GB Windows 10 PRO.
Any solution?

Thank you so much.

it looks like you are using the older APK on android 8 or later

use the APK installer instead: https://galaxy.signage.me/Code/Install/apk/6.3/CloudSignagePlayer.apk

SignagePlayer / Error dialog box "NO ..."
« Last post by arcadiabarcade on March 03, 2023, 02:56:19 AM »
Every time my Android SignPlayer begins to play through my designated scenes, a square error dialog box pops up in the middle of the screen with an OK button.

I cannot read the error. Whatever it says beyond "No" does not fit in the visible portion of the dialog box.

The only way to clear it is to plug in a mouse and click "OK." After awhile, it reappears. This is frustrating.

Any theories or help? Thanks in advance!
