General discussion on the mediaSERVER / Re: Managing many campaigns

I know this is an old thread but did you ever manage to find a solution?

SignageStudio / Re: Next Version of Studio

create your f4v's with the h264 codec and then rename the extension to .flv. works a treat.

We regularly buy from the states, very quick turn around and all preconfigured and ready to go. no issues.

I agree with the previous posters, there are many ways to 'pre-test' before buying hardware.

thanks for the test video file, that works fine.
it looks like it may have been a combination of video resolution and codec that were the issue.

What is the max resolution that will play without issue on the ipad?, ive tried full hd and it slows the video down to a crawl although audio is fine.

mediaPLAYERS, Hardware and accessories / Tablet Recommendation
« on: February 06, 2013, 03:16:00 AM »
Can anyone recommend a good android tablet for use with signageplayer?. Requirements are stable flash reproduction with interactivity and video.

Also does the kiosk interupt mode work on the android version?

I cant get these to work either, ive tried everything..

can you supply a known working file that works on the latest IOS version of mediasignage so that we can test?

SignageStudio / Re: What can we expect from MS for next year?
« on: December 29, 2012, 12:30:59 PM »
a key thing for me would be to have external triggers for timelines, i guess this would be along the lines of emergency alerting, so when you're doing that bit can you make it applicable to multiple timelines/campaigns?

interactivity and touch points are going to be massive over the next couple of years and having MS able to take external triggers would be a huge benefit.

SignagePlayer / Re: anyone has any experience with the MK808 as a player?
« on: December 13, 2012, 05:57:30 AM »
I thought i'd add my 2p's worth...

been testing since yesterday, no issues with wifi, tried in two locations, the only issue i had was at home i had to set a static ip, dhcp kept going round in a loop but to be honest i didnt have the patience to wait 10-15 minutes!.
I've tried the taskbar hide app with no problems, there is a setting (disabled by default) to set it running at bootup. From what i can gather this unit comes already 'rooted', i just downloaded superus from the playstore and ran that, allowed the taskbar hide program root access and jobs a goodun.
also downloaded autostart and added signageplayer as the only app.
seems to work fine, doesnt like flash files at all, they do play but it kills the processor. also tried a mini kiosk app as well, it didnt like that either. but to be honest for £50 what do you expect, its a low end player to a low end solution, you want anything fancy then upgrade to a mediabox.
for commercial reasons we will most likely use a mediadroid, but for testing and immediate applications the mk808 is a fine little box.

all that is needed is a way to get the signage controller on it and get rid of the boot up images "Google Tv" and the android boot loader image and we'll have a fab little unit.

General discussion on the mediaCLOUD / Automated Sneakernet
« on: December 07, 2012, 12:58:25 AM »

Is there a way of automating the sneakernet update at the player end of the process?, i would like my customers to just insert a USB stick and the signage player software do an automatic update, is this possible?

New features and suggestions / GPIO/Serial interface
« on: November 12, 2012, 06:39:38 AM »
Would it be possible for some sort of General Purpose Input Output/ Serial interface to trigger events/scenes/timelines/campaigns.

We are looking to integrate external interfaces for museums, customer information displays etc and require external inputs to our signage system. virtually all of the other systems out there (of comparable quality and feature set to MS) have either GPIO or Serial (or both)?

with the increasing demand for RFID and NFC technologies by brands this would certainly be a useful addition.
