Report bugs and errors / Windows8/10 problems
« on: March 07, 2016, 09:31:39 AM »
Hello guys,

i would like to report a problem related wwhich occurs when using the Windows8/10 players.

1. When installing the version 4.34.11 when trying to upgrade to the latest version 4.34.35 error #3219  occurs. In the studio it is visible that the update process is unsuccessful. There is a workaround when we open the directory of the signage player pressing the right mouse button selecting properties and clicking on "Run this program As Administrator".

2. The power saving mode of the monitor doesn't work properly. It is possible to schedule the monitor to turn off but after that the monitor doesn't turn on.

This problem is not present on players running on Windows7. Actually this bug is present since more than 1 year and now it is quite a problem ti find license on Windows7.

Can you please give me some idea when you will be able to fix that?

General discussion on the mediaSERVER / MediaServer current version?
« on: November 08, 2015, 11:40:31 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I wonder which is the current version of MediasServer? The last time we sold a self-hosted version it was 4.12.

Usually the functionalities present in the cloud version are not all in the MediaServer. For this reason i would like to

know if the following components are present.

Hello guys,

Any news regarding my question.

Is it possible to use the following product:

We don't need more than 1 USB port.

What is your opinion?

Thank you in advance!

thank you very much!

I checked it is compatible with the Vmware hypervisor (at least on paper).

I will check the device and hopefully everything will be ok!

Hello guys,

I have a customer which would like to have the MediaServer installed on a VM which runs on VMware environment. The main problem is the
USB-hardware protector without which the solution wouldn't work. The virtual machine has to detect at the whole time the USB device otherwise the operators will not be able to upload and manage content. So the goal is to map the physical USB interface of a server to the virtual deivce of the VM. Do you have any suggestions how we can achieve that goal?

I got suggestion from one of my colleagues to use this device:

Can you please advice if this is a good idea? Normally this device is working just fine on Vmware environment with other USB devices
but we have't tested it with the USB protector from MediaSignage.

Thank you in advance!

We are not based in the UK so for the onsite deployment we are not able to help you but regarding the content services

our company is experienced and we are currently making a lot of outsourcing especially for content creation for digital signage.

In case you are interested please sent me a private message.

General discussion on the mediaCLOUD / Music Player
« on: May 30, 2015, 04:00:19 AM »
Hello guys,

I have the following question regarding the music player:

1. Is it possible to manage the playlist/songs like we manage the video content/timelines?

For exapmle i would like to play PLAYLIST1-between 9.00-10.00 and PLAYLIST2 between 10.00-11.00

and etc. I would like to be able to make a more accurate schedule on the songs. At the moment there are two options

namely RANDOM LIST and SEQUENCES list. The problem is also that if once the player is restarted then the playlist starts

from the beginning.

2. Is there a proof of play version regarding the MUSIC?

3. Is it possible to adjust the player to CONTINUE to play the music from the point it was before the

player was restarted?

General discussion on the mediaCLOUD / Components browser and digg
« on: April 17, 2015, 10:20:44 AM »
Hi Guys,

I noticed last week there are two new components namely browse and digg but after i checked

there is no info for them in the video tutorials and the documentation. Can you provide me with some information

what those components do?

Yes the problem was solved. You have to put the logo and the swf. animation manually in one of the server folders (after you install the MediaServer). To be honest i don't remember which folder was but for sure if you talk to the mediasignage guys via the chat support you will get the right answer.

Can you let me know what processor (i3, i5 or i7) you are using with AIM suite and Signage Player on the same machine?  Thanks

For sure you should use at least i5 processor in case you have both CMS and Intel AIM suite on the same NUC(player). This is according the Intel Specs. In case you want to run only Intel AIM suite without CMS then you can use i3.

I suggest you should use the Itel AIM software. It has plenty of feastures and it is compatible with the signage player.

Intel has bought a company for that in 2010 (cognivision was the name of the company as far as i remeber).

The price of the Intel AIM suite is much much lower compared to QUIVIDI and etc.

You can use the Intel product AIM suite. It works just fine and the price is probably most competitive on the market.

We are using it on current project and i would say that everything is ok for now.
