Updated StudioPro to 6.4.3 & latest Adobe Air and the Display Mode is still not being recognized. Is there a setting in the JSON item itself in scene editor I can adjust to stop the animation?

The display mode is already set to manual under properties>general. I am using version 6.2.22 of Studio if that has anything to do with the software ignoring the Display mode. Also, the "random" option is unchecked.

Does anyone know how to prevent the weather graphics from "refreshing" every three seconds on the World Weather scenes? The graphics of the sun and clouds appear, then disappear, then re-appear every three seconds or so. They are the JSON item graphics.

No, just the regular Signage Player. I see Info is using an app. Sorry about that.

Is that Weather scene available for download? I use "Weather 02" and the negative temps display as "NaN".

I just switched over from using a SWF file to MP4 to play PowerPoint 2013 presentations. It seems to work fine. Try formatting your PP in a different version of PP (2003 perhaps?) and try it again. Or, try eliminating all of the "effects" and re-add them one by one until you figure out which one is causing the issue.

It is a bug in the component. Any negative number displays "NaN". Several of us users in colder climates have lived with this issue for years and will continue to do so until fixed...or forever.

Forget it. I posted the same question to this forum last year and never got a response from the tech team. I feel it must have something to do with the programming within the component itself.

As far as I know there are only two weather components available to choose from. So you get what you get.

I found this link about the NaN error (replace xx with tt):

Appears to be an error found in JavaScript.

Since I'm not a programmer, I can't fix it. But I've forwarded more clues than Scooby-doo has up his arse.

Two things I noticed to possibly help the programmers at DS troubleshoot this one:

When switching the format from Fahreheit to Celsius, all of the "NaN" data displays as "0" in Celsius.

When I was in Scene Editor and accidentally moved a component outside the X-Y axis area today, the component position displayed in Scene Editor was "NaN" as well. Makes me believe this is a formula display bug somewhere in the Digital Signage software, not a data error as someone pointed out in the link in my original post since "NaN" appears to be an error code similar to DIV/0 in Excel.

mediaPLAYERS, Hardware and accessories / Video Card Recommendation
« on: January 02, 2014, 12:53:11 PM »
Does anyone have a video card recommendation for the following setup:

Dell Inspiron 560 desktop (medium tower) with an on-board Intel GMA X4500 video card (1600 x900)
One HDMI output converted to RJ45 (Cat6) (for distance) converted back to HDMI going to three HDTVs
Output resolution wanted: 1920 x 1080 HD

The stock card is 1600 x 900 which is too small for the monitors. However, I've tried using aftermarket cards like GEFORCE GE 610 which work for a little while then flicker and finally die. I've also used higher-end cards and they don't work at all ( the 300W power supply on the Dell is too weak possibly?).

So I guess I'm asking for a recommendation on a video card that can drive two outputs, one at 1600 x 900, one at 1920 x 1080.

I saw this post pertaining to my issue: http://script.digitalsignage.com/forum/index.php/topic,1597.msg5455.html#msg5455

We've had this bug since we started using the weather guide. Did anyone ever find a solution for this? Can someone recommend a different weather data source that does not have this issue?

Nope. Still not updating.

The only way it displays the correct days is if I use the "preview" option in the SignageStudio to display the campaign. The player will not display the correct days.

SignagePlayer / Weather02 Component Not Updating Names of Days Correctly
« on: February 25, 2012, 02:15:48 PM »
I have a very strange issue. The Weather02 component that comes stock with MediaStudio worked great for about a year. All of a sudden (all things being equal/unchanged) the titles of the days will not update. The day names stay the same and do not change as each day passes. However, it appears that the actual weather data (forecast and temperature) is updating correctly.

Even more strange, if I change the zip code in the component properties, the days change - but not always to the correct days. Even when I pick a zip code that displays the correct current and future days, they do not update for the next day. Its like the day titles are static.

Today, I played with the settings (changed the zip code and recached the player) and now the component is showing no data whatsoever.

Any thoughts?
