Hello,
I'm an Enterprise reseller.  We have just put in new Windows PC players on three screens for the client running Windows 7.  They have content that just doesn't want to work using the HTML component. It had worked until sometime late fall 2014.   It loads the HTML and Flash but gets data communication errors. http://live.deckmonitoring.com/?id=hubert

So per support chat, we changed to using the Firefox External App component.  http://www.digitalsignage.com/_html/reseller_video.html?videoNumber=FireFox
And this runs the content with no errors.  Great!
However, the second time the timeline loads the External App and ends (transitioning to it's next content element) it crashes Firefox and Windows shows an error modal window in the foreground.

The client is sequencing timelines together, if that matters.

Well, here is what Stein tells me after he remoted into the box and did some troubleshooting and testing.

"it appears the resolution was not being detected properly. when i rebooted the machine it played the campaign correctly. when that happens, it will just be a matter of rebooting the station because that means the player is having issue detecting the correct resolution of the screen."

I swear I rebooted multiple times with no fix.  But for some reason it appears to be resolved at the moment.  The customer WAS turning off the screens each night by hitting the power on a power strip.  I have informed them of how bad that is for the PC and it could have been causing this error in Windows.   Lets hope the listen to me to gracefully shut down the PC first.  :-)

Thanks to the admins here and the support team at MediaSignage.  Very much appreciated.

Is there a link to a downloads page with all the previous versions?

Any thoughts on this?  I may lose this client if I cannot resolve the issue.  I've already spent about 6 hours trying to fix this. I'm at a loss.

Yes, these are the Mediabox 200 players from MediaSignage.  Windows 7 purchased last summer.  The playlists have been running perfectly until about 2 weeks ago.  Yes, the display properties are also set to portrait mode.  When I close out of the Signage Player the windows desktop is normal.  It appears to be the player app or some obscure setting.

For some reason those images are not showing.  See this link:
Add the www part to the below to see an album of the images.

SignagePlayer / External App & Firefox resized the content
« on: August 06, 2014, 11:18:25 AM »
Hello,
I have a client's screen that is using Firefox as an ExtApp component in the lower half of a split screen.
2 weeks ago the lower half suddenly resized smaller and the upper zone is now pushed up and out. (see photos)

I believe that Firefox updated to the latest full release and somehow resized itself.  I uninstalled and downgraded to the previous version that worked.  But I still have the same issue.
I can resize the Firefox window (in the foreground) but the upper zone is still resized smaller and upon restart, Firefox come back up and is squashed.

Also, if I run a full screen (1080x1920 portrait) playlist, the player is showing only the same amount of screen shown as in the above situation. Extra black at the bottom, content squished.

At one point last week, I was able to resize it and restart to a proper looking campaign.  But then later it was back to it's tricks. I'm not really sure why it didn't hold.
I've uninstalled and re-installed the player app and Air.  Those are current.
I've recreated the screen division and rebuilt the campaign from scratch.

Any advice?

Report bugs and errors / export to SD card not working - signage studio
« on: January 04, 2013, 09:41:57 AM »
Myself and another user on the forum confirmed the manual export for putting content on an SD card is not working.

My MediaDroidX is doing so poorly with playback and Wifi downloads, that I thought I'd try to use the SD card method.

I cannot seem to get Signage Studio to do the export.  It starts, gets to the fourth item which is labeled "Receive Styles" and it craps out.  Never completes.    I've tried on my Mac and also a Windows box. The windows version never gets to the fist item... even when I let it set overnight.

Can you export a playlist and see if it works for you?

SignageStudio / How to export campaign to microSD card?
« on: January 03, 2013, 11:51:59 AM »
Hello, I'm using the MediaDroidx player device but the location has no internet connectivity.  The player often will not play the playlist last uploaded to the device.  It also will often not connect to a wifi hotspot or even allow me to turn on the wifi (ugh).  So I want  to export the campaign to a microSD card and have the player pull from that.
How do I export the campaign to the SD card so I can take it to the device?

Thanks

Tim

That took care of it.  Thank you!  :)

Other details:  When I click the "Connect" button I see a message that says Signage Controller Connected  but then the next screen (the login) never appears.  The button greys out momentarily and then goes back to the black/green unclicked state... and sits.  Nothing happens.
