Report bugs and errors / Updating airplayer in xp
« on: November 16, 2009, 09:55:52 AM »
When I downloaded the new 1.8.150 version of signage studio and then went to the stations tab I was asked if I wanted to upgrade the signage players as they were not playing the lates release (they were playing 1.7.106). I said yes but the players did not upgrade to the latest release, so I went to the player itself and tried to upgrade but it refused untill I uninstalled the old signage player. Is there something I'm missing here?

So hows the written instructions coming along? I find it somewhat frustrating that I have to review the video tutorials every time I need to clarify some small point.

I saw the video on the changes to flash but they all seemed focused on the mobile apps. Do you know what the effect will be for desktops?

I wonder if the signage can be set up to cache html pages? I notice that if the connectionis down I just get a blank screen.

Your video tutorials are great, a written manual to augment would help a well to cover some of the finer points.

mediaPLAYERS, Hardware and accessories / xp vs vista

So how much better is xp over vista? Is vista really that unstable? Many newer computers such as Dell Studio Hybrid only come with Vista.

Well I did that, and now only the time line with the priority will play during that time. What I need is for the regular timeline to play and that only that "one" special ad will insert itself into the timeline for a couple of hours acording to the schedule. The effect would be that the regular playlist would look the same except for that one ad. The only way to do that now for me to recreate the main timeline, insert the new spot and set it's schedule so it appears that the ad has been inserted into the original timeline.

oddly enough it seems to be related to the filename. When I changed the filename to something simpler it loaded up fine. :)

actually the one from anitec there is the 2.6 ghz model. No have not tried it, but I'm confident it will work. Heck I've got 20 blue Pony Hi res flv files to play smoothly on a dual core atom 1.6 with some tweaking.

OK, so how can I possibly set it up so if I have a single ad needed in a timeline I don't have to reconstruct that entire timeline for just those two hours? This seems very cumbersome, and would make day parting a real chore. Example: A restaurant has a timeline playing all the time but in the morning for two hours wants to just drop in their breakfast special for two hours, and at night their drink special etc. I hope I don't have to reconstruct that entire timeline for just those purposes as this would be as MAJOR flaw. The ability to day part is essential. Please tell me how this can be done easily>

if I want both timelines to play in a given period say 24 hours for timeline one, and the second timeline to play onlong beside it, say from 9:00 Am to 11:00 am. So that the main timeline is playing always but the second plays with it for just the two hours, would I give them both the same priority? Also it would be helpfull if this was all available from the sequencer window.

Also check out this mini system from acer, only 2.4 inches high. Comes with vista and also downgrade to xp pro inluded with lots of firepower. Acer Veriton L460. http://www.anitec.ca/product/520039/acer-veriton-l460-vl460-ed5300c-pentium-2-6ghz-mini-pc-desktop-computer-psv730z004

have you been testing your software on windows 7 yet? If you have what have you found out? I hear it is supposed to be much more stable than Vista.
