Open source Digital Signage
« on: August 18, 2020, 12:39:01 PM »

Hello,

I would like to install the Open source Digital Signage version, I would like to know if with this version I can manage my users and storage space.

I intend to use within an intranet in a region that does not have access to the internet

Thank you

the open source codes are actually for customizing the front end interface. if the intent is to use it within your network, you would need our on premise product which is our mediaServer. may we refer you to our mediaServer product page: https://www.digitalsignage.com/_html/mediaserver.html

What does the above statement actually mean? So your saying the opensource version is not meant to be used to manage signs and is only meant for development of the actually interface?

So the licensing does not permit managing sign player from the Open Source version? I thought the OpenSource Version was actually the same as the Media Server/Cloud just for use in your environment.

Thank you,
Kyle

Tercio intent was to use it within his intranet but note that the open source code is for customizing the frontend interface for use with our cloud servers and does not include the database and all the webservices to run this platform therefore it will not be enough to simply use the open source code.

speaking of "licensing", note that the open source codes can be used freely by our cloud enterprise subscribers only

I want to create a reseller where the user/customer can add their screens and add the schedule that will display on each screen.

So that the administrator can control the number of screens the customer can use, and can also control the disk space he will use

My question is does the open source solution provide everything i need for this?

What are the usage limits for open source?

open source code is available to enterprise subscribers the purpose of which is to allow them to customize the front end interface that the customers can log in into - the webservices and database are still on our cloud server.

visibility, access permission, privileges, number of stations limits are all managed in the enterprise studio - so if the intent is just to manage those, there is no need to use the open source code rather you just need to subscribe to enterprise
