Local Resource Management
« on: February 26, 2009, 04:14:16 PM »
Hi,

Is there any way that I can modify the local resource folder location? I've figured out that one reason I've had player update crashing problems (and there have been alot of player updates lately) is that my Samsung 460pxn XPe displays use what's left of RAM (1GB) after the OS and apps are loaded as the C drive. This turns out to be about a 100MB C drive.

When a player update comes along, I get into a low hard drive space situation during the upgrade and the player update errors out. I know that this is the case because if I delete all of the local resource files pushed down from the server (videos etc.) and then run the update again everything works fine.

So, the only way to increase my local resource storage capacity on these things is by plugging in a large capacity (4GB or so) USB key and putting the resource files there, but I don't see a way in the player setup to change the default resource folder location to another drive. Doing so would also give me alot more flexibility in how many resources I can put into a campaign etc. 1GB is enough for the OS and player software, but what remains after that is pretty limited for resource storage.

Thanks,

Jon

Hello,
At this time you can't control the location of the resources ( locally that is ).
However, you can host them online and use the external video and image components to link to them that way.

Always glad to help,
