"NO Device" popup on androidplayer

Hi out there,

got a problem using a RB9 androidplayer.

every time the signageplayer starts, there is a popup "no device"

Player is running, updates working...

any ideas

the No Device message appears on Android OS version that the player software does not yet recognized more commonly Android Versions 8 and 9.

this has been resolved in the next release of the android player which is still in beta.  if you wish to try and test it out, you can download the apk from this link: http://galaxy.signage.me/Code/Install/apk/6.3/CloudSignagePlayer.apk

Hello,

I would like to know when you´ll release the next version of signage player for android.
I am using now the Beta version and the  "no device" message doesn t appear anymore but I cannot
reboot the player remotly or configure the power savings and reboot conditions. The OS version
in signage studio is also set as Linux 4.4.159.

we will be releasing version 6.3 at the same time with the new android device we will introduce.  Reboot button in the toolbar does not work on Android devices but Reboot Condition (using player option) and Power Saving setting (also using Player option) is working

could you please let us know wenn the new android version will be released or wenn the new android device will be introduced, just to have an idea.
Currently with the power saving settings, we can only stop the player but not shut down the station.

as mentioned, no official date has been announced yet though we are anticipating its release early 4th quarter of 2019

all android device only supports Player Option for Power Savings features - unlike PC's, it does not have a setting similar to BIOS's Wake Up On RTC Alarm or Wake Up on LAN

we are still waiting for the new signage player version (android) to be released.
Your new android device is already introduced.
It is still not possible to get snapshots from the station screens (for several videos).
It works for images but not for videos. It is possible to get them for android versions lower than 8.1
but not above. Wrong OS versions are displayed in the signage studio (linux 4.4.159) instead
of android 8.1 or 9.0.
Is there a chance to have these problems fixed in the next future.

please take note of the following:
- snapshot on android devices does not show videos for android versions 4.4.2 onwards since the texture context had changed over android version. on version 6, videos will show in snapshot if Texture Video is enabled on the videos' properties. note however that not all android device supports this property since not all manufacturers adhere to openGL standards.  to put it simply, if Texture Video does not work, your device is not compatible with our platform.
- android uses linux kernel and the newer devices do not use build.prop where android player software used to pick up the android version from.  this is in no way critical to the operation of the device or software so may not be address.
- power saving options using Station setting is specifically for windows only - android devices can only use Monitor option

as far as officially releasing version 6.3 goes, we have been distributing this version and it has been deemed stable thus far so it is safe to say that 6.3 is currently our official release.
