Documentation about Webcam source code

Does anyone knows if there is some documentation about the source code of the webcam component? 
I can't find it on the docs

for the webcam component, we only have this video tutorial: http://s3.signage.me/business1000/resources/WebCam.mp4

note however that this component is for windows only
