Flip vs. Scroll
« on: August 19, 2010, 02:02:41 PM »
Wanted to know if there are development plans or directions how to display feeds by the "Flip method as opposed to the typical scroll feature?

The only thing I've seen is a horizontal scroll; not a "flip" style presentation. "Flip" is easier to read than "scroll."  Any chance this will be developed or am I just not finding it?

Is there any possibility that your developers would consider offering rss feed displayed in a "flip mode" as compared to the horiz. and vert. "scroll mode?" You can see examples of this on FOX Financial and CNN and many other major news networks. It is proven to be more pleasing and readable to the viewer than scrolling.

This is THE feature we are looking for either. Without the flip, or just simple fade in/out, (maybe fade in/out will be easier for you guys) the RSS is pain to the viewers.

I have bugged the technical support about this issue for a long time. Please just use your magic and make our dream come true on this one. Thank you!

You can achieve it today by using Custom RSS component and building your own Scene.
See this: http://mediasignage.com/html/signage_video.html?videoNumber=customRSS

Yes it works with the CustomRSS, but Stock and other scrolling text should also have fade in/out. Because scrolling is really not that readable. If there is an option to switch scrolling into fading, that will be fantastic.

Thank you.

You can achieve slide (not flip) with Dynamic animation and the XML player supported in 4.0
