World Weather suggestions
« on: April 04, 2019, 02:21:52 AM »
World Weather supports English language only. This wouldn't be an issue if, once I set scene mime type to World Weather, I would still be able to add  "normal" text json items to the scene. This way I could set up to display infos like weekday and month in any language I need.
Instead, once I set scene mime type to World Weather all json items I add to the scene are forced to be weather items. This is quite inconvenient.

Alternatively, having options to the drop-down for a numbers-only date, possibly allowing for the various formats/orders (i.e. d-m-y and y-m-d), could be a partial solution.

The only workaround I can think of at the moment is adding html items to the scene, but this is quite unpractical.

the new world weather would follow the language setting of the player.  note that only the world weather info adjusts to the correct language.  as for custom fields, you can choose to define your own field by setting it at the Field portion of the Definition group (in 6.2, go to General tab and then go to Definition group).  the Field Path defined there overrides the settings for the weather drop down list

as for date/time, you may be referring to the clock component in which you can define various formats unless you wanted to add dates on the world weather component as well?

best regards

Thanks.

Done, but then how I specify a source (the json file) I have a weather scene, with a custom field. I drop the scene disrectly on the timeline.

Yes, the idea was to expand a little the options offered by "today short" and "today long".

Is there a way to change it from a 10-day forecast display? Even to a 5-day or 3 day? I dont see anywhere that is an option. But I recall that before the update, I was only seeing a 3-day forecast.

you can choose another template and assign to the component or create your own/layout.  refer to our tutorial on World Weather component on how this can be done
