The Lighthouse-Project - 6 Videos playing on a touchscreen
« on: March 22, 2019, 05:39:58 AM »
Hello everybody!

I totally new to this community and also in the digital signage world, and so I hope to not ask too stupid beginner questions... :)

Normally I produce films, but this time I want to realize a very simple Touchscreen-installation in a small lighthouse of friends of mine. And I am searching for a simple solution.

What I want to do in this LIghthouse:

- A Touchscreen with a well designed grid of 6 Videos on it.
- When touching a video it plays once and returns to the start-screen
- Should be starting automatically  in some kind of a kiosk-mode, so nobody can change something by accident

What I thought of so far:

- A 32" IIyama Monitor with touchscreen and integrated sound.
- Take an Intel Compute Stick or something similar
- Find a solution to start a Player, or Browser in Kiosk Mode
- Find a way that the Fullscreen Videos return to the Startscreen after playing

What do you think about my plans?
What Hard- or Software would you use to realize this easiest?
Can every stick start in kiosk-mode?
What problems do you see arising?
Do you know a way to get an HTML Player to return to Startscreen after playing in FullScreen? Or should I take some other player-software?

Would be great to get some starting-tipps, because I'm totally new in this field.

Waht I am expierienced in is designing and building websites and dealing with all kinds of video-materials. Maybe these knowledge will help me, but won't be enough... :)

Would be great to get some tips!

Best wishes from the north of germany!
