Weather is never accurate!
« on: February 14, 2018, 01:14:03 PM »
I have received different answers regarding this.  I charge my client a lot of money for a beautiful digital sign and all I hear is that the weather is not accurate - not accurate at all.  It can be 24 hours behind!  Why is there not other options to pull weather data from if this source only updates every so often.  Weather Data is "Right Now" piece of information or it is useless!  I have to manually sync to get it to be accurate.   Please address this...PLEASE!

which hardware are you using? sounds like a caching problem...
did you try our mediaDROID?

Whatever the problem is, it seems to affect everyone.  As of July 12, 2018, weather is STILL never accurate.  What is the problem with this?

We finally gave up on "pretty" weather scenes.  They were never up to date.  Then they would not layer correctly.  I do not have time for this.

What we have now is just a simple yahoo weather RSS feed that we scroll at the bottom of the screen.  Not pretty but it updates every 30 minutes and is accurate.  No fancy sunshine graphics and storm clouds but if it works it can be sold - if it does not work then I can not sell it.

So much does not work recently - we really need DS to step up and fix the basics.  The new stuff is really "nice and techie fun" but are useless if the basics do not work.

Local Business Patriots has been an enterprise user for many years.   I am trapped by DS as they are the only one that offer the Google Drive integration that I need.

Sincerely,

Are you going to address this issue, Media Signage?  You're Enterprise users are really losing patience.

It seems to be kaput again. I have not received any weather updates since Thursday, and now its Sunday. I even updated the city number from their website, no luck. Any solution?

This is still a persistent error. I used to have the weather on my stations but discontinued it when a client told me the temperatures were never correct - and last night I tried it again on the mediadroidx box, which never had a weather scene displayed on it before (thus eliminating the idea that the problem is caused by caching) and the forecast temperatures were off by 30 degrees F. It said our overnight lows were going to be freezing (32 F) but the real forecast says 60 F.
