Thanks for sharing this information...
just to make sure I understand my vulnerability, are all of the media boxes that i purchased from digital signage setup to get this update automatically?  Or do I need to set them up to get these types of updates automatically?  Or is this a one off patch scenario?

windows updates are often disabled otherwise you will receive updates on the screen which is not what you want in digital signage.
keep in mind that if your OS is behind a firewall (which most are), and attacker would not be able to access the box from the outside regardless of os exploits.
