Facebook/Twitter components
« on: November 14, 2016, 07:51:04 AM »
Must I have access to the admin Facebook page to build a Facebook feed using the Facebook component?

I work with a very large company and there's absolutely no way I'll ever be granted any sort of access to the admin of the Facebook account.

Is there a way to do it without using the account the page is built under?

Same thing goes for Twitter... I'll never get the login info or access to the Twitter page.  Is there no other way to show a Twitter feed?

yes the feature does require these permissions...
you can use our JSON component but you would need to the grab the data via other methods

Any plans to change this in the future?   You'd think there must be a way to have a Facebook/Twitter feed without having permissions to the page...

According to Twitter there is no need to have a permissions to feed from specific user/hashtag. You have to create your own account, but you don't have to ask for permission to feed from another account (but keep in main twitter has some number of requests limits).

Mati,
Have you been able to do this using DigitalSignage's setup?

@KRob,
Built-in studioPro twitter component wasn't satisfying for me.
As I remember I couldn't get the name of tweet's author (and his miniature photo). I also couldn't.

3 options for you are:
use build-in component (with some limitations)
use twitter-rss generator (google it, also with limitations)
build your own web-app, use twitter aouth 2.0 API.
