Random Repeated Crash/Freezes
« on: July 19, 2016, 11:56:02 AM »
We are having issues with the signage player crashing and/or freezing at random intervals.   We are using a second generation Intel Compute Stick running Windows 10 pro, online upgraded from Home.  The timeline is running an RSS feed, Rich Text, browser (an animated gif), and a collection.   Right after the last crash, the event log appears to show the player app had a problem with adobe air.

we also had issues with the Intel stick, the processor causes racing conditions (just weak)
but we are having much better results with the new version that was recently released

We've had an Intel stick running a pretty simple timeline at one site for months without a problem.   When we went to the Enterprise version we created a somewhat more complex time line and that's when the problems started...   I think the problem is with the Webkit (displaying an animated gif coming from and external site) and whatever adobe air components are running from the signage player program folders, the event logs are consistently showing errors coming from there.

Also, the player is running under an unprivileged user, which I'm wondering if might be part of the problem.

well the key is that you are running now more complex config, thus the racing condition.
I recommend the mediaDROIDX which is flawless or the v2 of Intel stick!
